  • Super8 effect: clips frame rate change in CS6

    hi
i’m wondring how to get a frame rate change (from 25 to 15) on my clips so I can simulate a Super8 projection video, and then adding effects. Everytime i change frame rate (only way I found is to create a 15fps sequence) I also have a duration change of the clips..but I just want them “not smooth”. This was very easy on FC7 (right click on each clip then change the FR). Is there a way on Premiere CS6 or should I manage to get something from AfterEffects and then back to PR? thanks

You could use the Posterize Time effect to alter the apparent frame rate in Premiere, but I’d probably send this to Ae. In addition to Posterize Time, if you want to sell the look as Super8, you probably want to add some motion blur, grain/scratch/dirt/leak/flash/leader elements, some color grading, a bit of blooming, maybe some diffusion, maybe a little gate weave.
