Do you have other firewire devices connected besides your deck or camera?

You can use Media Manager inside of FCP. You can also use the drag the files to the trash method and choose “Empty The Trash” option from the file menu in Finder. I generally like using the last method as I can better see what I need or want to delete.

There is a download available from Apple to go back to QT 6.5.2. Just go to the OS X link and then go to downloads.

I’m staying at 10.3.8 until I know Tiger is safe and stable enough to install. Is it me or has Apple’s “latest and greatest” OS seem more like Windows?

I thought of another insane (evil grin) idea. Have him submit the video to Spike TV for the show “Most Extreme Elimination”.

The only big advantage Avid has over FCP is a stable and relliable method of going from offline to online. As mentioned, several times, the Media Manager in FCP is long due for an overhaul. Other than that, FCP has Avid beat overall. Like everyone else, I hope FCP 5 takes care of the issues associated with Media Manager.

Use After Effects, or Combustion for this. You might want to have a clean plate or make one.

  • Has anyone tried deleting their prefences and then re-start their computer?
