I agree Walter. And who wants a NLE that doesn’t require some rendering. Just when are you supposed to go to the bathroom?!?! 🙂

I echo that question. Did it only export clips up to a certain point? Were the clips all on one track? What about audio? Or did it all seem random?

I will admit that the cat names are easily mixed up over time when trying to put them in chronological order. But I do prefer real names over numbers and letters. It’s just more appealing to me. Who wants version 10.blah.blah when you can work on LION. It’s why I prefer a Ford Gran Torino over a BMW M3. 🙂

Sounds like your doing everything right. Try applying the filter by selecting it through the Effects Menu. If that doesn’t work, maybe it’s time to Save and close the app. Restart the computer and go get some coffee.

No, just look for an EQ filter in your Effects bin of FCP. Drop it on your music/voice clips and start adjusting. It’s a little clunky and you may have to render. Yes you can achieve this is STP also if you know what you’re doing or have the time to play around in the app.

    1. For simplicity, use the FW 800 TB drive as your scratch disc at home. Use the the 250GB drive too sneaker your projects back a forth.

    2. When editing at home, all media should be on your scratch disc. Put the FCP project file in a folder (FCP Projects) on your MBP internal drive.

    3. Use the Media Manager Tool and copy all media and project to a folder on your sneaker drive.

    good luck

Should be able to achieve something acceptable with an EQ filter. Just take out the low end and adjust your gain until you get the desired effect. It will probably take a bit of noodling to get it just the way you want it. Might even try adding just a hint of reverb.

  • If you haven’t applied any keyframes in the motion/size tab you can select all the clips right click remove attributes and check motion. This will set all your clips back to 100 percent. All those that you have keyframed size adjustments to will then have to be redone. Please then, step away from the monitors for 15 minutes to allow your eyes to “unbug.” 🙂

  • Pretty sure that PRORES 4444 may be a bit too fat for RT playback from a FW800 drive. Also any clips that you have applied a distortion setting will probably need to be rendered.

So I guess background rendering is once again rendered useless. I’ve seen this dog and pony show before. Remember the “Stratosphere” circa 1997-98. Saw an attempted demo of that twice with so many crashes the vendor finally gave up….TWICE! At least they let you turn it off.
