Someone off line pointed me in the right direction. I rasterized those text elements and therefore rendered them uneditable.

So I retyped them and got what I wanted.

    Lesson learned.

Having never done a complete uninstall/reinstall of a computer, let alone one with AVId XPress pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc., what is the best way to go about this? Are there any absolute Do’s and Don’t’s? How much time will something like this take?

    Thanks

My initial attempt has proven to be okay at best but with the time crunch will have to do. I will look into that product for the future. We don’t call upon the use of a Steadicam very often.

    Thanks

Here is what I am currently doing.

I have added the 3D layer to the clip and frame by frame I have adjusted the Z Rotation acording to a vertical line that I placed on the clip that I compare to the center most vertical line in my clip. It workes okay but is very time consuming and I have been at it all day.

If I don’t like the results from this I will attempt what you suggested.

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks

    Andrew Kramer,

Thanks a lot for this great tool. I was looking for some way to get the film look for a short clip and your download worked great.

Your easy tutorials were also very helpful. I hope that you will continue to add to that section of your site as I will be checking it for more helpful tutorials.

    Thanks

Thanks. Not certain why it didn’t work the first time but it did this time.

    Thanks

I think I figured this thing out…or at least how to import items. I found on the Zaxwerks site under “Troubleshooting” a line that states:

Problems with opening Illustrator files. The “No useable vector paths” error message.

If you are using Illustrator CS, turn off compression when saving your files.

I was able to import after having done this so hopefully this stage of uncertainty is over and I can start the stage of uncertainty concerning the actual use of the program.

Does Zaxwerks Classic work with Illustrator CS or CS2? Everything that I create in Illustrator CS2 will not import into AE.

Okay, I can get through step no. 2 but then a window pops up asking for an Illustrator file. I do not have Illustrator on my system so I asked our Marketing guys to make me an Illustrator file with the vector outlines in RGB. The file can be seen once I click on it in that window but it will not import. It tells me that “There were no useable vector paths in this file”.

Is this a normal step? There is no way to click out of it and continue on with Invigorator. If I select something that the Invigorator doesn’t like it cancels it. Can I not take files off of a CD? I can pull in the files from the sample projects but not from anywhere else. What might we be doing wrong?

By the way, I am using the Classic version.

    Thanks
