I would like to ingest to a 3TB external drive due to size rather than my hard drive – from there I would like to export (copy) to another 3 TB external drive as an archival backup of the P2 content.

I can’t seem to find where you can designate where the media goes upon ingest.

Thanks for the great info. Pro Res was not an option – so I switched the codec from M100HD to DVCPRO_HD (Which is how I shot it) & it now playback is fine.

Yes – I’m able to import a file from the recovered data and play it back in M100. Does this give you any insight?

The company that recovered the files organized them in folders based on file type.

The drive has about 900 GB – that’s why I mentioned that it seems to be checking the drive a bit fast (a blink).

I tried the re-link with no luck. Oddly enough as it searches for each file – it’s checking my Mac Pro HD and as well as this new drive with the recovered files – but it does not seem to be checking this new drive for very long – just a blink per file search.

    Any thoughts?

This has become a bit more complex. The media that has been moved to a new drive was restored by a company that specializes in that. I should be receiving the drive today. – they told me that the good news is all of the media files are there and appear to be good… the bad news is the file names appear to have been lost.

If this is the case – do I figured out the files based on the Time Code – then rename as the original name – then re-link?

It was as easy as dragging all the content from an HD timeline to a SD timeline.

    Thanks!

I think you found my problem. In list mode it’s saying “Codec Not Installed dvh6”

    Now what?

By the way – thank you so much for helping me with this – I feel so clueless

By the way great job on workflow junkies.

    Very new at this.

I shot (2) clips on the panasonic HPX300.
    AVC-1_100_1080/29.97p
    DVCPROHD_1080/59.94i

I offloaded the clips into the Panasonic P2 Contents management software.
I then went into M100 and attempted to import P2.

Both clips appear to be importing correctly however – once in my bin – there is no (black) image in the thumbnail of the clip & playback tells me – bad frame as a pop up (that I can’t seem to escape with out force quitting M100.

    Sorry about that –

    System M100 Suite V 1 (Intell)
Source In – Analog – using XLR cables
    Convert to 44100 Hz

    Output Kona HHe
    Rate 48000 HZ
    Sync audio to analog
