    Ok,

it´s just that ” trimming a transition alignment” is precisely what I am trying to do … a splited audio transition alignment

so there is a little flaw on the ” next version wish list”

(why do I want to do that ? to use the kinda “dynamic trimming” of the Precision Editor. (Playing (listening) and extending on the fly)

Motion is a little toy compared to After, or not?

    Not , it’s just a cliché

can you post serious benches comparing ? same footage, same conditions…

from a logical point of point what you say doesn’t make any sense

you can perfectly adjust smoothness at start and end in Fcp 7. Both to displacement (Position) and zoom (Scale) but separatly !

what you can’t do properly is both at the same time. (they work differently). Problem is … that is just what you usually want…

you need to go to Motion for a proper “Ken Burns”

    – with a camera it will be perfect at once

    – if you play with Position and Scale you will end (at first) with the same problem that in Fcp (because “Position” will have a Bezier by default) but by adjusting both parameters KF to “ease in” (for instance) it will suit your needs.

  • Larry Jordan mentioned a 12 M$ cost for developing FCP X

I wonder where he got that figure ?

  • Odd, but in exactly the same situation problem vanished after trashing the Thumbnail file.

ok , I guess you are dealing with interlaced footage, right ?

as you may have noticed in Fcp’s animation tab, interlaced footage must be located vertically all time on a value being even and round. if not… image get softy.

problem is that stabilizing footage moves it constantly vertically… so you can figure. It’s horrible, either in Fcp or Motion.

you need to de-interlace footage, stabilize and re-interlace.

and the only way I ever found to do this is using Shake.

Shake does a perfect job on this

I am a very Fcp person and I don’t like long gop renders ! (who does ?)

it is just that I work fot a Tv facility where XdCam Hd 50 was chosen to be lighter on storage and network. although they shoot Dvc Pro Hd ! would you believe that ?

trying to make them switch to Dvc Pro Hd but they have to change the media port of the Omneon (and the port who does the ingest too) it seems to be expensive

I can’t help to notice that none of them (Dulce or Aja) take the XdCam Hd, in account, (not any flavor of it)
