I am not talking “rotate” / I am talking displacement “ala Ken Burns” / pan &scan

did you try & compare both way in AE ? (anchor point vs position ?)

  • on sunday nights (at least) try this :
    – turn off the machines
    – go to bed
    – rest you head on a pillow

something very strange will happen, it’s called sleeping

I tried “anchor point” for pan & scan in AE since I read Richard Harrington book and … yes It’s like a cam running on the still (like in the old days) rather than a still moved under a cam.
    Well in my opinion

    Kevin,

it is known that using of “anchor point ” is much better than “position” for pan&zoom (therefore the superiority of AfterEffects)

do you use anchor point for your pan&zoom in Fcp ?

  • yes, the image is softened when captured from Hdv to Dvc Pro 100

But what about capturing in Dvc HD Pro ?

the royal way to do this is the free ” G Reverse ” plugin from non other than the great Graham Nattress

    https://www.nattress.com/

fills a gigantic hole in Fcp features

[Luke Maslen] “Assuming you can see the down-converted standard definition video on the SD monitor, this is the same video that you can output to Digibeta.”

Luke, does that mean that it will be only composit out to the DigiBeta OR can I assume that if I have composite out I will have SDI out too

something else, (since you’re there), and thank you to be there by the way)

I am in the process of acquiring either a Decklink Extreme or an HdLink, or maybe both… I wonder, would the HdLink allow me to capture HDV tapes in Fcp 5.0.2 directly in Dvc Hd Pro format ? I mean : in one reading and capture pass ?
