  • Hi Robert

You must have selected have Envelope Edit toll instead of Normal Edit Tool.

The icon may be a little different depending on the Vegas version used.

  • Hi Joe

There are 2 types of AVI. The older one being AVI-2 and the newer one being AVI-1. Ya, it does look backwards but that’s what it is. It could be that you don’t have the proper decoder. Do a Mediainfo on you original file and post it here.

    Hi Ritesh

Video editing, especially the rendering part, is extremely demanding on your hardware. Unfortunately yours is severely under powered for the task. I would recommend that you get something a little more recent and better equipped for editing in order to get the full potential out of V17. Take your time doing the research. You need not going overboard on specs. There are numerous on-line resources that will help you in getting the right tool.

There are not secrets here, editing requires hardware muscles. It’s even more important as you start adding FX.

    Hi Ritesh

What is the make and model # of your motherboard? What OS version are you running ? What version of Vegas do you have ?

  • Hi Ozren

Let me try something mad here: Are you rendering at 32 bit Floating Point (Full Range) per chance ? (That’s Pixel Format in Project Properties)

  • Hi Ella

The problem lies with Windows. During the course of using your computer, you have downloaded, browsed, installed and un-installed software, etc… Gaming stuff are also a big culprit when you run into computer problems. A lot of them will install their own sound drivers and other stuff. Eventually, some of the changes made by one or more of them will affect the way Windows will behave. As a side note, the computer that I use for editing is only used for that purpose because of all off that. I learned my lesson a while back after loosing a lot of material.

Now, without knowing what version of Windows you have, I would save the good stuff to an external drive (frequent back-ups will always be your best friend) MAKE SURE YOU SAVE ALL OF THE SOFTWARE AND SERIAL NUMBERS BEFORE you wipe your drive clean and start fresh. That usually does the trick.

If you will be doing any amount of serious editing, consider having at least a separate computer for web surfing and/or games.

    Cheers !

  • Hi Ella

What version of ASIO4ALL do you have ? There was an update back on April 22 2020 to fix a bug in Win 10 that sometimes created the noise you mentioned.

    Link to updated ASIO4ALL:

    Hi Jono

If you read the whole post, you will see that he made mods along the way in response to comments about versions. I still have all of my Vegas versions starting from way back with V3. I still revisit some of them on account that some of the plugins that I like to use don’t work on some of the late versions.

If push comes to shove, I’m sure you can get a earlier trial version somewhere that will work with the plugin if you can’t make it work with yours.

    Cheers !

    Me again

Vaguely remembered reading something about this a long time ago. Here’s the link. There were a few versions of this. The most updated one is at the bottom. Make sure you read the complete post.

Sounds promising. (never tried that one either)
