Got the reply from BM’s forum: Apparently this feature was dropped and the manual was never updated to reflect that.

The workaround is to flag the applicable clips in the Conform / Media page and then using the Flag Filter in the Master timeline when you’re at Deliver for render.

May 28, 2013 at 8:28 pm in reply to: DecLink SDI AV out for FCP X?

    OK> Solved. (To some extent)

Noticed a subtext in the BM preferences in SYS PREFS that states:
“Final Cut Pro X and startup video output will use this setting”

Seems like FCP X does not see anything beyond what this is set to upon FCPX launch as an AV option. Annoyingly, it seems to only be able to set this upon startup of FCP X. So I can’t change AV output on a per “project” basis while FCPX is open… ?

    Any ideas?

    Yiy! That does it!
    Thnx

I got stuck before not realizing you can grab a still and access its TRACK node graph if you are in TRACK mode when you grab it – thought you could only access it’s CLIP node tree… But even though both CLIP and TRACK is stored in the still you can only see in the node graph whatever was selected by the time you grabbed the still.

February 1, 2013 at 8:33 pm in reply to: Media Managed Transcode from PP

Yes, its long GOP of course. As mentioned, It’s MTS (AVCHD). It can be transcoded and trimmed for sure. If you can bring in a long GOP file into AE / or a NLE like PP and trim it there you can trim it via the Media Encoder. (Not sure what you’re getting at… ?)

Converting to short GOP has many advantages downstream for post. if you do a good quality cross-code to a codec like ProRes you will not see a degradation at all. In my case I want to send the files to RESOLVE for grading and that does not accept MTS streams.

Yep. No trans-coding options. Only duplicating media.

But that means you have all your used clips in a folder – which you can then batch encode through an external encoder like Compressor / Clip Wrap if you’re wanting to go MTS to MOV. Re-Link and you’re good to go.

Anyone found any internal PP solution yet?
