Tony,

I’m assuming you are currently on 3.0.4.1 version running the update from within that? If so, the updates will not work. You will have to go to the GenArts website and download the new 3.0.9 installer from there. You can find the file download here: https://www.genarts.com/support/particleillusion/standalone and the Direct File location is here: https://www.genarts.com/support/downloads/particleillusion/standalone

You will also need to contact GenArts asking for a New key since they are no longer activating 3.0.4.1 version. You may want to try 3.0.9 before you decide to go with that version. v3.0.9 has issues with the Load Library Preview. In this version the previews they do not work. There is a workaround but we still have not heard from GenArts when they will be fixing this program.

GenArts and Alan have been very quiet on this forum.

Alan,

Any word on when new Emitters and possible the time-frame for when a patch will be released for pi3? The amount of activity on this forum for this software seems to be at an all time low.

Would like to see some updates from Genarts on the future of pi3 and IF they plan on fixing some issues and creating some enhancements that have been requested by phalkunabba rath on 9-07-2014.

Why does Genarts not update the current user base for this software? Some kind of e-mail for registered users on the future of this product or soon to be released patches would be nice. The lack of notification is very troubling for me. I’ve seen this many times before with “other” software companies.

Will you also be updating the Catalog file Alan? There seems to be less and less work being done with pi3. I really hope that GenArts plan on making some bug fixes and improvements for this great program.

I would e-mail support@genarts.com to get help since it appears that Alan does not frequent the forums as much as he used to.

Genarts should be able to assist you or at least tell you if there is a known issue that they are working on.

Alan,

Will you be putting those Emitters you told users about in the Forum under the https://www.wondertouch.com/emlibs_30.asp website?

Users not reading through the forums will not see that you released the Q3-Q4 Emitters. Currently the Emitters page still only shows Q2 as the newest library files released back in July 2014.

Just curious as to why this has not been updated yet. I would think you want users to know that you released newer Emitters?

If you have that path, I would let the program download to that location, then you can manually copy the Emitters over to the path you want. You will need to make sure pi3 is closed out before you copy/move those .il3 files to the new location.

Otherwise, I have never actually changed this path since it is related to where you installed pi3 originally.

Can you post these Q3 & Q4 emitters on the main Emitters download page? https://www.wondertouch.com/emlibs_30.asp I do not see them listed and if someone does not use these forums, they would not know you released the Q3-Q4 Emitters.

I am hoping that GenArts is still planning on updating the Windows version of particleillusion?

Hi Graham,

Thanks for posting that video. I’m having issues viewing it, but I guess I should have mentioned that I was looking for the printed guide that was posted that gave all the measurements. I’ll try to see if the video works later and see if dimensions, etc are mentioned.

Since you have the older box version like I have, I believe they no longer activate it? I may not be 100% correct, but you can get the Free Genarts version of pi3. Just send an email to support at genarts dot com.

You can also download the Genarts branded pi3 version here: https://www.genarts.com/support/faqs

Go to Support for particleIllusion 3.0 Standalone and then it should provide you a link to this page:

Now that I think about it, I think they will still activate the older version if you still need it but contact support either way to confirm.
