  • I guess my next question is, can GenArts really tell CreativeCow to remove a forum that is hosted by CreativeCow and NOT GenArts? It is a pity and I’m kinda upset that someone just “pulled-the-plug” without a warning saying on August 1st 2016 the particleillusion forum will be shutdown. I would have liked to backup some of the helpful tips and tricks that were part of that forum. I wonder if that is why Elvis stopped frequenting the forum since he knew that it was only a matter of time with the new buyer that everything would change.

Another disappointment for me. Maybe GenArts did not like me and other users complaining there were no updates coming up. Very sad

    Bryan,

Looking at that link you provided for TimelineFx looks eerily similar to the PI3 current libraries. Mainly the readouts library.

Does the software create avi files or only .png files?

    Paul,

I forgot to mention, if you want to go over the FAQ page yourself, here is the direct link:

    Current: https://www.genarts.com/support/particleillusion/standalone

    Older Version: https://www.wondertouch.com/faq.asp

    Thanks.

    Hi Paul,

I believe if you are trying to re-install version 3.0.4.1 GenArts no longer allows that to be registered. You would have to make sure you are using the newer installer 3.09.

You can download the newer installer from this location:

    https://www.genarts.com/support/downloads/particleillusion/standalone

According to the GenArts FAQ section, they say this to register the software:

How do I activate my license?

If the software is already on your machine:

On Windows, go to: Start -> All Programs -> wondertouch -> particleIllusion 3.0 -> Install Serial Number.
On Mac, go to: /Applications/wondertouch/particleIllusion 3.0/Install Serial Number.

Follow the instructions and select the option to authorize over the web. Click here if your machine is not connected to the Internet. If the software is not on your machine, go to: https://www.genarts.com/support/downloads/particleillusion/standalone. Click on the link to download the installer. Follow the instructions and choose the option to authorize over the Internet.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Brian,

I appreciate your honesty. I will have to hold Alan to his promise that he made to me (via email years ago) indicating that when pi3 is discontinued/canceled he would create something so our software can continue to be used. ( NO activation required) I brought up my concern over software that requires this activation and if something should happen.

I certainly hope that this gets implemented then for us registered users.

    Thanks.

    Brian,

Thanks for updating but it seems this is contrary to what we have been told in the past. Especially since users were told to upgrade to pi 3.0.9 from 3.0.4.1 and the preview function stopped working. We were told at first that Microsoft changed something but that is not true since my version 3.0.4.1 still works fine with the preview function as it did previously under Windows 7.

As to the “standard” comment it seems that GenArts is now giving us about what other emitters do you want, many users wrote back indicating what they wanted to see. I indicated it would be nice to see animated birthday balloons as one example that still has not been created.

To me and many other users, it seems you no longer care about a product that you deemed was worthwhile since you bought out Wondertouch for the technology. It would be nice to see more features in this product but since GenArts is not even following their own promises, I seriously doubt I will invest any further with GenArts since it appears you are leaving the once great product behind in the dust.

I am seriously disappointed with the lack of anything to this once fine product.

    Mark,

Have you gone through the tutorials that are included with the program? (they are included under the program files folder named “manual”. I would start first with this link: https://www.wondertouch.com/quickstart.asp as this is sort of quick start guide of the program screens. Normally when you change the emitters properties in the Hierarchy Window you have to make sure that you also update any other snowflake listed in that same window.

  • Tony,

I’m glad they were able to assist you. I was talking about update information being provided on the Wondertouch user forums.

The Quarterly emitters seem to have fallen on the way-side and any information on updates regarding 3.0.9 have not been provided.

    Hi Leigh,

I’m sorry but I do not have a lot of experience with that particular issue. I would contact support@genarts.com to see if they can help you out especially since you just purchased Particle Illusion.

The only thing I can suggest until Alan or GenArts pops up here, is to make sure that once you Press S for search under ParticleView that you have both the IL3 and IEL/ELC boxes checked.

    Good luck.
