  • Installing an update from check for updates returns “bad zip item 65536”

    I am trying to download and install particle illusion 3.0.9 from the Help/Check for updates menu but i get a “bad zip item 65536”. How can i fix this? Thanks in advance for your help

    Tony,

    I’m assuming you are currently on 3.0.4.1 version running the update from within that? If so, the updates will not work. You will have to go to the GenArts website and download the new 3.0.9 installer from there. You can find the file download here: https://www.genarts.com/support/particleillusion/standalone and the Direct File location is here: https://www.genarts.com/support/downloads/particleillusion/standalone

    You will also need to contact GenArts asking for a New key since they are no longer activating 3.0.4.1 version. You may want to try 3.0.9 before you decide to go with that version. v3.0.9 has issues with the Load Library Preview. In this version the previews they do not work. There is a workaround but we still have not heard from GenArts when they will be fixing this program.

    GenArts and Alan have been very quiet on this forum.

    Tony,

    I’m glad they were able to assist you. I was talking about update information being provided on the Wondertouch user forums.

    The Quarterly emitters seem to have fallen on the way-side and any information on updates regarding 3.0.9 have not been provided.
