Can you also email your contact Tim @Cow to see why the ParticleIllusion forums were removed? No notice and there was a ton of information that is still useful. Since GenArts is still selling ParticleIllusion, I am not sure why the forum was removed.

Hi George & Mike,

The Link that was provided under the SCS forums indicating the new EULA from Magix was posted on Sony’s website. I only bring it up now so we are not blind-sided once a new version of Vegas comes out.

I am a firm believer to make sure we get an answer from MAGIX.

I only bring it up here since I am not sure who frequents the SCS forums.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for confirming that as users we will not be Obligated to be online once a month for license validation. Does this mean though, that in 6 months, the software will ask for Internet connection or does this mean once we activate the software we are “good to go”?

I was only mentioning that Magix currently uses that with some of their products that use something called the P3 serial. I just want Magix to confirm they will NOT be going this route with Vegas Pro and the other software they purchased from Sony Creative Software.

If they are, I am certainly thinking twice about what I will be going to.

I was just reading on Magix’s website about their software registration and that the fact that products with something called a P3 serial number program requires an Internet connection at least once a month to to validate the license. “Once a month” to validate the license???? This almost sounds like what Steam requires for games and that is why I avoid any Steam related games.

I like to use my video editing system Offline and I hope this is NOT what Vegas Pro will be going to once the transfer has completed!

Magix, please update my question regarding if Yes this is what Magix is planning on doing or if No, it will be kept the same as it is now.

Great news to see that Vegas will continue. Hopefully this will also include Sound Forge, CD & DVD Architect, ACID and updated Loops & Samples libraries.

I would like to see for Vegas:

Please add the capability of Opacity to the Event Pan/Crop tool and maybe allow other options to be added as well.

I came across this limitation when I was trying to create those old VH1 Pop-Up style videos using Vegas Pro. (At each position in the video I have to change Opacity but I could not)

Composite Envelope is a track Property and the Pan/Crop tool is an event property so If I moved an event all sync is lost between the event pan/crop keyframes and any keyframes in the Opacity (composite) envelope.

I would love to see this implemented in an update to Vegas Pro.

Hi John,

Actually I reported this twice to the webmaster and have received no response or answer back. I just checked my email again to verify.

I really hope they bring the pi3 forum and your forums especially if users have been using it. I never thought particleillusion would have been removed at least without some kind of warning first.
