Although my system is not a modern one (MB: ASUS P8Z77-V; CPU: Intel i5-3570K, 3,8 GHz; Chipset: Intel Z77; DRAM: 16 GB DDR3-1333 Mhz; GPU: Geforce GTX 650) and I use Vegas from its version 11.0 (currently ver. 16), I did not have any problem with the stability.Francis S. Dobos

You can import the original (not the rendered by Vegas) file into AE. You do not have to render it before importing to AE.

Vegas 13 contains the image sequence option. See my screenshot below. If it is missing, use the link in the previous thread attached by Jorma. There you can find a method to fix your problem.

You can import into After Effects CC both avchd (m2ts) and xavc-s (mp4) files (clips). After editing you can export them from AE as lossless avi files. I don’t know AE CS5.0, but you may try it.

Hello Shawn, if you modify the length of the event in the media generator, you will get a small sign in the event on the timeline. In order to see it, you have to increase the length of the event.
This rule is true for shortening as well.

Debbie, I agree with Mark’s proposal. Probably you have a hardware problem (connection) and the SV doesn’t see the proper drive. It seems to me this is not the fault of the SV.
