To toggle to numeric entry either press the “Num Lock” key (in the upper left corner of the numeric keypad) or use the NumLock menu in Media 100 i. It either shows a arrow (play button), then you have deck control on the numeric keypad, or it shows a little numeric keypad, then you have numeric keys and deck control with Shift (as it was under OS9)
End of program is “End” key, not command-end.

If I understand your problem correctly this is only happning occasionally and not on every render. So probably this is something the hardware test could miss. You could try to run the test in Loop mode for some time (e.g. overnight) to see if something will show up then.

This sounds like a hardware failure, either with your P6000 boards or with something like your HD or whatever. To avoid this dropouts from AE I would recommend trying the Software Codec.

I think you will enjoy the system. I do that everyday.
Regarding the Component issue, I have to do some additional tests on that. I never saw the problem that was described by Thomas, but I will have a look at it and some Component/SDI comparisons.

There should be no problems in upgrading to OSX10.3 with V8.2.1 (or V8.2.2). If you are using an SCSI or FibreChannel adapter you should check if there are new drivers or firmware for that; and I think I remember that there were problems with some RAID arrays and 10.3; but a “standard” setup should work fine with OSX 10.3.9, and you will get some nice new features like configurable keyboard shortcuts.

V8.1.1 does not work with OSX 10.3 or later (e.g. export does not work). Either install OSX 10.2.8 or upgrade to V8.2.2; or download Media 100 sw for export on 10.3.9

have you installed the software codec on a Media 100 i system? Then you definitely should remove the hardware codec as explained in my document. Otherwise Compressor will not encode your files.
Have you tried if Compressor works with other (non Media 100) movies? Maybe there is something wrong with your Compressor installation. -
And Floh correct me here if I am wrong, I don’t own the HD version but I saw it at the roadshow in the fall. You can only use the uprez function of SD to HD if you have the hardware correct? I believe that this ability is restricted to the HD version only because the hardware is still somehow involved in this process.
You can can uprez and downrez in HD on acquire and output through the hardware, and you can uprez and downrez through the software in HD and sw using the “Conform” command (in the “Media” menu).
