  • How do you get the number keys to work?

Posted by Jerome Robbins on May 4, 2005 at 8:51 pm

I am using Media 100i 8.2.2 XR on OS 10.3.9 Since I switched up from 7.5.1 on OS 9 there arer to functions not working. I can’t use the number key pad but have to use the numbers on the keyboard.

Also I used to be able to hit Home to go to the beginning of the timeline and (Apple End) to go to the end of the timeline. What happens now when I hit (Apple End), is I go to the top of the timeline.

I am sure this is an easy fix. Let me know please.
    Thanks,

    Jerome

To toggle to numeric entry either press the “Num Lock” key (in the upper left corner of the numeric keypad) or use the NumLock menu in Media 100 i. It either shows a arrow (play button), then you have deck control on the numeric keypad, or it shows a little numeric keypad, then you have numeric keys and deck control with Shift (as it was under OS9)

End of program is “End” key, not command-end.

    Hi Jerome

Hit the “clear” key on your keypad. That will toggle the keypad functionality. You can also toggle using the triangle/keypad icon in the menu bar, just the right of Window.

Hi. I can’t get the number key to activate. In the menu, next to “Window” I see the 2 choices but they are both “grayed out” so I can’t change them (there is a check next to “NumLock is Off”). Also, the clear button doesn’t change anything. What am I missing?

Hi Floh. I just checked – running 8.2.1. Same problem, though, can’t change the setting from the menu or the keyboard. I’m assuming the upgrade to 8.2.2 is available on Media 100’s website – I’ll try updating.
