The current V2.1.4 release is just a Mavericks-Enabled version. There will be another update with some bugfixes.

No, it is a completely new codec and system. Unfortunately it is not supported by Media 100 natively. 4k is…

Um, I guess it is not so much about Boris allowing it; I simply have to find the time and the topics to cover some features. But let´s hear what you would like to see.

[Marcus Warren] “does that mean that M100 is stuck at 32bit?”

Hmmm, I guess yes. But actually moving the app to 64 bit would not give us much benefit anyway (except for some cases when working with really long timelines, where there are some memory management issues with Media100). The only real benefit probably would be the fact that some deprecated system calls and APIs would have to be replaced when switching to 64 bits.

I personally would have preferred a 32bit app with an enhanced player (to support additional codecs) much over a 64 bit app without any new features. But as it looks right now, chances for either one are not too good.

[Mark Mooney] “Hopefully Boris will give us Mavericks .. Would love to move to the new Mac Pro! Soon !!”

Yeah, me too. T-Tap and Aja IO XT are supported already by Media 100, so we at least have some Thunderbolt-enabled Video I/O options.

Let´s see if the release version of Mavericks did break anything major.

And yeah, I am working with an unreleased version right now for testing purposes.

In my initial Mavericks tests I did not find any major issues with Media 100. But I have to do more testing with the Mavericks release version to see if everything is working as expected.
Right now, with the Media 100 V2.1.3 version you cannot work with Mavericks, as Robert wrote, since the app blocks you from doing so.

[Mark Mooney] “But I am converting to ProRes and then importing.. “

How are you converting into ProRes? In the ProRes codec, there is a flag for interlaced/progressive. So the software doing the conversion writes the files as ProRes interlaced, which gets read by Media 100. You should check the settings of your conversion software.

Okay, we found the reason for the bug. Hopefully a bugfix update will be available soon.

If you have V8.2.3a, do you as well have a copy of Cleaner, which was included with older releases? The deinterlacing can´t be done on export on these old systems, so you have to use a 3rd party application like Cleaner, AE, Compressor or something similar.
