If you don’t need it still and want it to animate like an oscilloscope,
Find yourself some audio of a very deep sine wave or maybe one that is changes tune a little bit and then use the “Render->Audio Waveform” Filter.

It’s a very simple process using the new text anmation tools:

    • select your text layer
    • twirl it open and select “animate -> Opacity”
    • set the text-opacity to 0 (not the opacity of the layer)
    • Now twirl open the “Range Selector 1” controls and animate the “start” or “offset” of the range

Rendering with fields (aka. interlaced video) should result in smoother motion.
For DV Pal, you need the “lower field first” setting

  • It’s prob. more of an OS issue,

in the Finder, select any .psd file and do a Command-I to “get Info”

You’ll see a section named “Open with:” and a pop-up to choose a program.

Select Photoshop CS2 from the pop-up (or if it isn’t listed via the “other…” option)
and then click on the button “Change All” to open all .psd files with PS CS2

You may need to have administrator privileges to pull this off, I believe.

  • You’re better off setting the speed back to 100 % and then adjusting your keyframes to achieve the same (fester) effect.

For a Camera named “Camera 1” that is a child of “Null 1″…

    • Duplicate the Camera, and hide your “Camera 1”.
    • give “Camera 2” this expression for position:
      thisComp.layer("Camera 1").toWorld([0,0,0], t = time)
    • If the camera is oriented towards a Point of Interest, give the POI:
      thisComp.layer("Null 1").toWorld(pointOfInterest)

if the camera-rotation is animated with keyframes…

then, Errrm.. you need Dan Ebberts’ help 😉

  • Did you time-stretch the layer before you enabled Time-remapping ?
The maximum length of a solid, still or time-remapped layer is indeed always the length of the comp (or the footage-duration if that’s longer), but that value get’s multiplied by the speed setting you’ve applied to the video.

  • Using a 3d assistant will always give you a more ‘blocky’ result.

if you have 6.5 pro, is CC cilinder an option ?
You can but your camera inside of it.

    Duplicate your wiping layer,
pre-compose it, go into the comp and duplicate it again, set the top-layer to difference mode. you’ll see nothing but black.
Now shift the bottom layer a few frames earlier.

You’ll see only the difference of what’s been changing in the last frames.

Go back to your main comp, set the mode to add, do a blur and perhaps a colorize.
Or a glow, or starglow or a shine, etc..
