  • simple question about Text on AE 6.0

    Hello,

Sorry for bringing such an easy question without searching for the answer, but I am on one of those extreme deadline situation, so if anyone can help me out and spare me the research it would be much appreciated.

Problem is I am using AE 6.0 for the first time on this very big project and I cant find one very simple text fx that I used to have in AE 5.5..

In 5.5 you can do text on a path (straight line in this case) and then have the characters show up on screen one by one by just setting keyframes for visible characters…is there an aproach on 6.0 that is this simple to achieve the same effect? (text show up as it was being typed..)

    thanks in advance
    best regards
    renato

I made an example for you.
But since you seem to be using an AE6.0,while I am using an AE6.5,so maybe you can not open the example for you.So…..
I place the screen shots of the whole process in the folder ,you will be able to know how to make it by following the screen shots.
    wish to be helpful.
Here is the link to download the files:

It’s a very simple process using the new text anmation tools:

    • select your text layer
    • twirl it open and select “animate -> Opacity”
    • set the text-opacity to 0 (not the opacity of the layer)
    • Now twirl open the “Range Selector 1” controls and animate the “start” or “offset” of the range
