I have the same rednder problem, but I have a Black magic Decklink HD extreme 3d card, But get the same render problem in FCP 7 when trying to render 1080 clips with MB Looks.

Im running 2×2.66 GHz-6 Core processor
16 GB Ram

Grapics is ATi Radeon HD 5770… is this not good enough?

When i downres to 1440 is works but yea.. but not what I want to export.

What would my HD 1200 deck setting be if I had to capture 50 frame footage or 50 frame footgae aswell, Im on FCP2 and can only capture everything as 25 which means i lose frames and am unable to convert.
My FCP just doesnt see the HD1200 deck on setting that makes sense example.. Blackmagic 720p 50 dvcpro or 60 aswell.

Ive tried diffrent freqencies but nothing worksunles its 25 FPS and fire wire is inly able to capture 59.94
I need the raw 50 and 60 frames shots as is in order to convert.

PLease help someone!!!

Im not sure how to check that, but im pretty sure it is 25fps coz it says so on the deck itself (on userbit) is tells you the frame rate. But coz its a varicam it could be 25/60 or 25/50 im not sure.

My sequence setting is

Frame Size 1920×1080 HDTV 1080i(16:9)
Pixel aspect ratio : Square
Field Dominance Upper (odd)
Editing timebase 25

Compressor : uncompressed 8-bit

You seem like a clever guy, im in South Africa and working in a pal eviroment.

Im trying to capture varicam footage from my AJ1200 deck via my Black magic Decklink HD extreme card to FCP studio 2, OK sooo.

My Deck is set to 25fps as in 25 HD and there is diffrent frame rates on one tape ..like 25, 50 and 60 fps on one tape so i can capture the 25fps footage but when i try to capture 50fps is just captures it as 25fps and i am unable to convert the clips. What do i need to do to capture 60 or 50 fps footage as they are and convert them afterwards.

Sequence Preset : Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 50 – 8bit
Capture Preset is : Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 50 – 8bit
Device contol preset : Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 50.

And this is about the only preset which the deck recognizes and captured with.
Ive read a whole bunch of stuff on this matter and have tried diffrent combinations and they all make sense but the deck dont seem to see it. So this is the only preset i can use unless its a settting on the deck but as far as i know the deck is set to auto and tells my thru the user bit character which frame it is, but like i say my fcp just captures it all at 25 but then i cant convert.

Im also trying to capture varicam footage, shot at 25 , 50 and 60 fps on one tape, ive manage to capture the 25 fps footage using a 1200 dvcpro hd deck and a blackmagic decklink card. But now do have to change my capture presets when i get to the 50 fps footgae on the tape and same for the 60 frame ,, so i have change my cpature presets to that frame rate and then convert it afterwards??

Ive got a bog project and am struggling to capture the footgae, and also coneverting afterwards, is it just a case of using the Dvcpro frame rate converter and making the 60 fps shot a 25 fps shot????

Ive got the exact same problem but im using a black magic card HD decklink card.

Ive managed to capture everything at 1080i 50 even tho it was shot at 720p but now my system is struggling to play back the footage and making it a problem editing.

Im running a MACPRO 8cor system with 8gig ram is this still not enough to play back 1080i footage???

Coz what i had to do is take my 1080i project and copy and paste it onto a 720 pal timeline which affect the quality in a big way.

Your help will be much apreciated.

It was a urgent project and im using a Black Magic HD deckling card and it could only pick the deck if i make my capture presets 1080i, Im also using HD1200A DVCPRO HD deck, and had to get the project out.
I manage to get the project done, what ive done was capture 1080/25 and copy my edited project to a normal pal timeline and export from there. Problem is ive lost alot of quality.

I cant seem to get this deck to see my system on 720p. its just not connecting to the deck. Any suggestions, ive tried all presets that “in theory” should work.

Hi im in South Africa ok and im working with 720p footage for the first time, the only way i could capture this footage is 1080i, but now when i play back my exported 8bit uncompressed file 1 or 2 shot seem to be jerking slightly. It was shot 25 over 60 fps so im working on a pal drive.

Could this be coz im capturing progressive footage interlaced …. 720p cptured at 1080i.??
