    Hi,

I created an easy setup in FCP to capture Varicam footage from the 1200 deck . Some of the footage in the capture bin says that it is 59.94 and some says 23.98. The cameraman didn’t use alternate frame rates for shooting. Any ideas why the tapes are capturing differently?

    thanks!

What was the Easy Setup? DVCPRO HD 720P 60 or 24?

The one time I’ve had this problem was when I was capturing long clips at 24 fps using Capture Now. If I didn’t stop the capture before the timecode break encountered at the end of recorded footage (end of tape), the clip would be reset to 59.97. If I stopped capturing before reaching the timecode break warning, it would remain at 24. This is a pretty specific situation, but perhaps you’re doing things the same way.

    Hi Guys

Im also trying to capture varicam footage, shot at 25 , 50 and 60 fps on one tape, ive manage to capture the 25 fps footage using a 1200 dvcpro hd deck and a blackmagic decklink card. But now do have to change my capture presets when i get to the 50 fps footgae on the tape and same for the 60 frame ,, so i have change my cpature presets to that frame rate and then convert it afterwards??

Ive got a bog project and am struggling to capture the footgae, and also coneverting afterwards, is it just a case of using the Dvcpro frame rate converter and making the 60 fps shot a 25 fps shot????

    Tanks
