Hi Thanks so much for the responce.

Strangely it was int he middle, none of the usual suspects were responsible. However on the upside I sorted it this mroning.

I copied and pasted that clips file directory and then pasted it into it own folder, then imported it into XDCam and it worked! Hurrah, maybe the cirectory was corrupted. Either way thanks for the reply.

    Have a great day, I know i will now : )

    Happy Friday

thank you so much, That all makes a lot of sense. I really appreciate your time and shall pass this info onto my client.

If we get the original files, assumably its just best to compress them through xdcam?

Andy’s region blur is great for a quickie outer edge blur.

You can download it for free from andys plug -ins (a great free selection by the way).

Just pic your blur shape, click invert to apply to the outsides and then feather the edges.

Your a star – I was having the same problem, the cameraman had relabeled the bpavs. I wondered if this was the problem, and it was. I’m doing a 48 hour turnaround jobbie, so you saved my bacon, thank you

Cool Chris, thank you for such a straightful forward plan of action.

Once I have completed the export, if it comes out jerky just ignore it because its too big for QT player, but it’ll be fine for my clients editor?

When you say modify settings – what modifications exactly, as I am probably going wrong at this point?

eg: change current settings to 25fps?
Change the bit rate to 4000?

    Many Many Thanks,

    Eve

Hi, thanks for getting back to me so quickly

What data rate did you set on the compressor?

Data rate i just left on auto

How did you set the K-frames?

    what are k-frames?

H264 is a delivery codec and normally easy to play.

Do you think its because i export from fcp as quicktime before importing it into compressor – should i just send it straight from FCP?

    Hi all,

    Many thanks for your help.

In the end i solved the problem by changing the compressor to xdcam 720 VBR 25 instead of the H.264 standard

Not sure why, but it exports all the films and plays them perfectly now.

    Thanks again for all responces
