Thanks for your help! Seems silly that you buy a 20k deck and can only output an hour at a time, but I guess its just too much tape to fit in the L cassettes. Ahhh, tape, I love it and I hate it.

I’m not worried about the smaller track pitch, I’m worried about the extra large cassette size.

    From tapeonline:

NOTE: The AJ-HP126EX is an extra large cassette and may only be used in the AJ-SD965 & AJ-HD1700 video tape recorders/players.

Anyone successfully done this with the 1400?

March 7, 2008 at 6:41 pm in reply to: OT: Sick and still working on deadlines

I had a nasty cold last week that I couldn’t shake. Like everyone, I had deadlines to make and decided to muscle my way through.

I hit the wall on Thursday when we had a big commercial shoot. I was running the camera during an interview and had to stop halfway through because I was literally 2 seconds away from passing out. Luckily, we had someone there who was able to run the camera while I went home. The next day, Im back in the edit suite, with a 103 fever, finalizing a show for delivery.

Now, Im out of work with bronchitis and pneumonia. So the bottom line is, if you can get some work done without pushing yourself too much, fine. But like alcohol, know your limits. Sometimes you have to put your health at the forefront, tell that client the bad news and take some PT to get healthy again. A day or two to rest up is better than not being able to work at all for a week.

Another recommendation for Mike Grier @ Platts. Great people, always willing to help you out. Currently purchasing a new Panasonic cam from them.

    Hey Flip,

Maybe I’m missing something obvious here, but I’m trying to use the script you posted and I keep getting the error “Unable to execute script at line 24. AE error: Unable to call “removekey” because of parameter 1. Value is undefined.” I’ve looked at the scipt code, but my inferior coding skills cannot determine what the parameter could be. Using AE6.5 (maybe this is the prob?) and using the script on moving footage, not stills. Any thoughts?

Not so for me. All I use for static titles is the Title 3D tool, and I can assure you, its an issue! Maybe it got cleared up in the 5.1.4 update and I never heard about it, but Im at 5.1.2 and its there. In fact, its been an issue, for me at least, since FCP 4. And its not a huge deal, I just make X,Y even and whole and move on. Just part of the routine…
