    Hello Folks,

I am wondering if there is a way to have FCP only zoom to where the timeline curser is setting on the timeline..

When I zoom, it always goes to what I have selected, which is never where I want.. And often I can’t see what I have selected because I’m zoomed to far out..

Yes, I know.. whine whine whine… I should click on the top gray part of the timeline to deselect everything and THEN zoom..
    BUT Whaah!

And while I’m on a whine fest.. Is there anyway of “Selecting from here” (like the good old Media100) with out having to hit the “T” button 400 times!!?? Drives me crazy. 🙂

    Thanks so much,
    Chris

Select all forward shortcut is “T” and then shift.

Go to your ROOM YOUNG MAN. And just click on the gray area before you zoom. Get into that habit. Shaddup kid!

FOUR times. Sheesh…is it really that hard? FCP isn’t MEDIA 100…get used to it.

Now, back in your room until you are done sulking.

Using the shift key as a modifier is the way to go for selecting forward or back.

I also use the option key to modify several other commands.

As far as zooming, I’m just in the habit of clicking in the grey first, but I wish that FCP gave you some more ways to modify preferences for things like that.
