sorry got my words mixed up. yes, I have a full version of AE CS3 but actually didn’t even know about color finesse until I recently saw a tutorial by Eran Stern -“The Pusher”. He mentions that every copy of AE since version 6 comes with this plugin so when I went to look for it under the effects, I could not find it.
I’m guessing that I must have accidentally removed the plugin from my plugins folder while installing other ones. I’m not sure but it could be lost for ever. In this case is my only option to reinstall my AE CS3 entirely? Or is there a way of just retrieving this plugin/or the original plugins if more happen to be “lost”?

thanks for the quick response. cant believe I missed that, what’s weird was that it was rendering at 25 fps before and I don’t remember ever going into QT prefs and changing things in the first place. Oh well, all good now.

I see, and Render Elements is a plugin that does that for you?

great I’ll check that out thanks. But say if I was to place everything under a null then switch on the green override switch for the elements I want to render out. They’ll still render out as a single image right? Because basically everything in my scene I’d like to render out but have each element rendered out in its own image sequence.

Hey, sorry what I meant was is it possible to type in your own specific percentage for the zoom? The Fit up to 100% option works perfectly fine, but I am only working within a small element within the composition window so I’d like to zoom in appropriately. The increments jump from 50% to 100%, but 50% is too small and 100% is too close. Is it possible to type in for example 75%?

Hey, unfortunately not. Still not sure what’s causing the problem. I’m just having to deal with it by clicking ok every time it pops up. I remember lookig around at the time but couldn’t find any cures on forums so I’ve given up pretty much, for now anyway. Still annoys the hell out of me though. If you do find out please reply to this post. Would appreciate it.

June 4, 2009 at 11:39 pm in reply to: cant place a background image in perspective viewport?ahhh that was simple. Cheers! If you don’t mind me asking how one would go about creating something like this?:

I’ve got the motion tracking side of things done nicely, but I was wandering how you would make the 3d elements appear as if they were intersecting a building / emerging from below the ground etc. – same concept. Would the best way to do this by creating a large boolean object such as a cube in place of the building that the visible 3d elements can emerge from? Or is there a better method?
Also, would you know how to cast shadows on an invisible object as this example has done?
Any suggestions are appreciated. Cheers, Eugene

Oh nevermind, got it! Of course there’s one for CS3….man I’m an idiot. Anyways, thanks! Most of the keys from my limited selection of keys have been taken up by some other function but turns out that the TAB wasn’t being used, surprisingly. Well, it’s working now. This makes syncing sound so much easier.
Cheers! Eugene
