Hey guys, just been trying to do some boujou tracking. I go into the perspective view while looking through the exported boujou camera and notice that I am unable to place a background image in the viewport when it is in perspective mode. How do I go about rendering a background image along with my 3d elements in cinema 4d?

    Cheers, Eugene

    Hey Eugene,

You have to create a background object. Go to the objects menu, Scene, and select background object. Then create a new material with the image you want to be your background in the color channel. Apply that texture to the background object, and you should be good to go!

    Hope that helps!

ahhh that was simple. Cheers! If you don’t mind me asking how one would go about creating something like this?:

I’ve got the motion tracking side of things done nicely, but I was wandering how you would make the 3d elements appear as if they were intersecting a building / emerging from below the ground etc. – same concept. Would the best way to do this by creating a large boolean object such as a cube in place of the building that the visible 3d elements can emerge from? Or is there a better method?

Also, would you know how to cast shadows on an invisible object as this example has done?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Cheers, Eugene
