Actually sometimes he plays it back straight from quicktime by double clicking the icon. Although he has had some of the same issues with the animation files. I read somewhere that it is good to select in the options while rendering to limit the data rate intead of keeping it unlicked or off/automatic. Is this true?

So basically they do the exact same thing and mean no difference? Thats kind of weird isn’t it? I figured one would be more beneficial for saving clips that will be brought back to fcp. Meaning like when u reimport you wont have to re render.

Thanks guys. Yea steve I never realized it was for transfering files from one tool to another (animation codec). So if im working in After effects and I want to output what is the best way to keep the res up high?

I have noticed that the None compressor which im guessing means it puts no compression will sometimes play back fine on my brothers faster PC. I believe its a dual 3.ghz processor. Could these pipeline issues be due to my dated hardware?

Green check out theforce.net its a starwars fan films website. There are a few great tutorials in there on doing the lightsaber effect in AE. Google lightsabers in photoshop. There is a action someone made that works amazing and has like ten diff saber colors and sizes. All you do is make a line over the saber and hit a action key be it F7 or whatever you set it to. Once you get into a rhythm it works quick.

  • Is there any way that looks good to deinterlace footage straight in AE? Steve what you were saing about interpreting would you need 2 layerse one with even and one with the odd fields?

Ben your right I need to add noise or somethign so its not just solid grey. Im just confused on when and when not to use precompose and if you need to nest the displacement or not.

I agree Jason. IF you could help explain how you accomplished this city I would hella apreciate it beacuse in my opinion it looks so stylized and cool. I like it a lot.
