If they are turning this into a NLE, maybe they could add support for P2 MXF in AVC-Intra flavor. I’d love to be able to natively edit and grade them all in one application without messy transcoding first.

From the Adobe FAQ:
Encore CS6 is supported on Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1 (64 bit) and Mac OS X v10.6.8 or
v10.7. Please note that Encore CS6 support for future operating system updates or new hardware
platforms will not be provided. -
So what is a good alternative professional quality DVD/BD authoring software if future OS updates break Encore? Where I work USB sticks are a no-no for security reasons, so I still put out quite a few DVDs every month, and I don’t want to get caught with my proverbial pants down.

June 10, 2013 at 7:14 pm in reply to: Any early thoughts on Premiere running on the new MAC PRO?Not impressed. I have to get an external expansion chassis for my video capture card, my CUDA card, and for my SAS card? And I’m going to either have to hope that my capture card and SAS card work over Thunderbolt or get firmware upgrades OR I’m going to have to drop several thousands of dollars repurchasing all of that stuff? No thanks. I’ve been on the fence about going Windows next workstation refresh, and I think this just pushed me firmly in that direction, I can use all my existing PCIe accessories saving me quite a bit of money, and all the software I use is platform agnostic so I really don’t lose anything other than easy access to writing ProRes, which isn’t a huge loss.

[Chris Tompkins] “I can’t get this to work on the mac…
Chris”
Oddly enough, it’s working on my Mac.

That’s just it, it isn’t there. I’ve reset my windows, tried different views, I just do not have the resize slider for the sequence pane.
EDIT: And I just figured it out, instead of the separate slider like in CS 5.5 and like the project pane still has, the sequence pane works entirely differently and you have to grab onto the end of the scroll bar. I don’t understand why they would leave it the old way for one pane, and make it a new way (with poor discoverability) for another.

That seems like a pretty big movement to me, you should see a rather pronounced color cast on any footage if you move it that far towards one color. I just replicated the same values from your picture with the BMCC sample DNG, and it has a very noticeable color cast.

If the wheels are too sensitive while using a mouse, maybe try doing all your adjustments with the primaries, I think it’s easier to have fine grained adjustments using those with the mouse, though they are slower than the wheels.

It really is something they need to address, since one of the big selling points of Premiere is it’s ability to ingest any format natively.

The Adobe plug in only works with 8 bit DNG files, the 12 bit files from the Blackmagic Cinema Camera are a no go, at least in my testing on CS5.5

Thanks for the response, I figured it out, I accidentally switched the input and output HDMI cables on the card itself when I installed the bracket, feeling a bit dumb now, but all is good.
