Good to know, thank you, I was just going off what they had listed under minimum system requirements in the read me link on the download page.

I was excited, until I saw it only runs on Lion or Mountain Lion. Bloody shame, Lion is awful, and I’m not sure I’m willing to leave Snow Leopard just to get a better DaVinci.

Speaking of benchmarks does anyone have any idea where a GTX 570 would slot in?

Support for 5870s would be the bees knees.

April 5, 2012 at 6:58 pm in reply to: Issue with stills

That is what’s weird is I did change it before I Imported them, and the duration it was giving me wasn’t the default duration, or the new one, but one I’d never used before. I finally just scrapped the whole project and started over, still wasn’t giving me the right duration, so I rebooted everything, scrapped the sequence in the new project, made a new sequence and reimported everything and it seems to have taken this time.

  • All I want is AVC-Intra support.

October 31, 2011 at 7:10 pm in reply to: Is this typical performance

I was using space bar and not a RAM preview, that did make it better. My settings were close to what Adobe recommends, I’ve tweaked them a bit based on what you linked, thanks. I know I need more RAM, thats going to be in the offing on 2012s budget. I’m just learning AE, having been tasked with adding this skillset to what we already offer our corporate clients, so I don’t really have any idea what normal performance looks like, so any tips/tweaks are appreciated.

I’ve been using an APC XS-1500 with a 12 core Mac pro and 2 cinema displays hooked to the battery. I left the speakers and other things off of it because as Steve said, the UPS is there to let me save and safely shut down, not keep working. I’ve had a couple power outages and it’s given me more than enough time to safely shut down.

Downloaded and installed resolve lite, but as soon as I try to make a new project the program crashes.

This covers pretty much all the computer display resolutions. I’ve run into at least 6 of them on various business laptops when working with corporate clients. Trying to explain resolution to executives who want to know why their 1080p .mov from the ad agency does’t look the same when they push it through an XGA projector is, lets just call it interesting.
