I’ve never seen that happen before. It’s even wrapping the image around to the other side where it goes out of frame. I’m not sure what would cause that problem but I would agree with Dave that you may have something set wrong in the render settings. If you want to reset everything to defaults and see if that fixes it you can trash the preferences file.

Here is some info I have collected about importing 3D camera data into AE that might help:
“If the camera move doesn’t quite match in AE it’s probably because the AE camera’s field of view is wrong. To fix, check the value in the 3D program’s camera and enter it manually in the AE camera’s parameters.”

It could be that Premiere is interpreting the fields incorrectly. Try checking the settings by selecting the clip in the project window and right-clicking and go to modify>interpret footage. Try changing the field order and see if that fixes it.

You might also try to just pre-comp the ipad animation and then duplicate that pre-comp in your main comp and do the standard flip and feather reflection treatment. That way the moves all match and the feathering/transparency of the reflection will be consistent.

AEscripts.com has a script for that called CompsFromSpreadsheet. I’ve used it several times and it works great but just be sure you have everything spelled exactly the same in the spreadsheet and the project or you’ll get an error.

When you say “photoshop files” what are we talking about exactly? You said you are trying to play them so are these movie files you’ve rendered from photoshop or something? If so and they are H.264 or some other very compressed format then that’s probably your problem. Render them out as QT animation or something from Quicktime and try again. If they are stills, are you bringing them in as compositions or footage? Did you try to replace a PSD composition in AE with another one that might have different layer names/structure. If you brought it in as footage, are you using layer styles? If so, turn them off and see if the problem persists. Layer styles are responsible for lots of weirdness in AE. Also, be sure the PSD files are using the RGB color mode and not CMYK.

You can’t make that in AE. Maybe something sort of kind of similar but not that. Especially not without 3rd party plug-ins. It would be fairly easy to do in a 3D app so maybe you could put an ad for someone do the 3D ribbons for you and pay them a chunk of your fee. You don’t have to be able to do everything yourself, you just have to be able to deliver what the client wants.

I would render it out as an image sequence – assuming your player will take that format.
