Ribbon Effect….is it possible?
I have been slaving away at this one effect for some time now, about 2 months on and off and really I haven’t gotten anywhere, and the client has been sold on this effect, it is essential for me to get it, my livelyhood is riding on it. Ok i haven’t been using AE for a while only about a couple months im using cs4, here is the example I was given to recreate https://youtu.be/NV7yUKyT8TY
Any help, suggestions, places I could find tutorials, books I could get anything at all please AE gods help this poor soul… ps I don’t have the option to use third party plug ins

You can’t make that in AE. Maybe something sort of kind of similar but not that. Especially not without 3rd party plug-ins. It would be fairly easy to do in a 3D app so maybe you could put an ad for someone do the 3D ribbons for you and pay them a chunk of your fee. You don’t have to be able to do everything yourself, you just have to be able to deliver what the client wants.
