1440×1080 is supposed to be stretched to 1920×1080 because that’s the size it should be displayed. The difference is the pixel aspect ratio: 1920×1080 uses square pixels with a pixel aspect ratio of 1.0; 1440×1080 uses rectangular pixels so its aspect ratio is 1.333.
If, for some reason you actually do want to change the pixel aspect ratio of the footage, you can right-click the clip in the project window and go to interpret footage > main and change the “pixel aspect ratio” setting at the bottom of the window.
To copy/paste the settings to other clips right-click the clip in the project window that has the settings you want to apply and go to interpret footage > main > remember interpolation (shortcut: ctrl + alt + c). Then select the clips you want to apply the settings to and right-click and go to interpret footage > main > apply interpolation (shortcut: ctrl + alt + v).

To make it look like the lines are bleeding into the paper you can lower the opacity of the sketch layer and set its blending mode to Multiply.

You might have better luck with Mocha. It’s a planar tracking system so it should do a pretty good job of sticking to the arches and you can specify exactly what you want it to track. There are quite a few tutorials out there on how to use Mocha for effects similar to what you are trying to do. HTH

Hi Chris, It sounds like you may not have the continuous rasterization switch turned on for the masked layers inside of the pre-comp.

I agree, it’s clearly not the project files themselves, something went wonky with AE. If it’s an issue with your card as you suspect, then maybe try removing it from the OGL and Raytracer supported cards lists so AE doesn’t use the card when it starts up.

One way around this would be to animate the Y scale from 100% to -100% instead of rotating on X. That will give you the same effect as the Front orthogonal view.
Another thing you can do is to pre-compose each block so when it rotates you don’t get the off-center skewed perspective on the blocks. They will still have perspective and the edges will still overlap but without the skewed perspective.

I don’t have AE with me now so I can’t verify, but with text layers that have been renamed, if you select them and hit “Enter/Return” to rename and then “Delete” so the name is blank, and then hit “Enter/Return” again, they will revert to the original text. Not sure if that works with effects names but it’s worth a try.

Just a warning, layer styles can wreak havoc in 3D comps, doing all sorts of weird things that make no sense. Or at least up until CS6. If you do try that and things start going all hinky, then delete the “layer styles” from all of the layers in the comp. Just turning them off doesn’t do it.
