There’s a script that will render still frames at every marker in the timeline – that might be your best bet,
Render Frame at Markers scriptAlso, in case you don’t already know, the shortcut for “save frame as” is ctrl/cmd + shift + s.
You can set the default file type in Edit>Templates>Output Module>Frame Default.

Thanks Blake, that was exactly right. I just exported a couple of test and there were no lines. I assumed that since I was playing at full resolution in the timeline on a high-quality monitor that what I was seeing was what I was getting. Glad that’s not the case.

If I had to guess, I would think those were probably done in a ray-traced 3D app but you may be able to get close with Element. The reflections appear to be more like a simple studio environment or something that they made in AE or Photoshop with simple shapes. There’s a script that creates AE comps from spreadsheets. I know that’s not quite what you need but it seems like it wouldn’t be much of a leap for that developer to make something for your needs.

Dude, believe me I feel your pain, it’s happened to me too many times. i know this won’t help now, but for future problems I really suggest backing up your entire system with something like Acronis, which I use and recommend, that makes an exact copy of your boot drive at a time when it was still working. I keep copies of my system backups in various states, like when the operating system is first installed, and then after I’ve installed all the drivers and basic programs like Microsoft office, and then again after I’ve installed all of the big apps like the Adobe and Cinema 4D and Avid and so forth. That way you can always go back to a previous system state without having to totally start from zero. System restore works sometimes but not always, full system backups are bulletproof.

Hey David, Unless I’m misunderstanding your question, adjustment layers are supposed to behave exactly as you described, they are invisible but will show the edges when hovering over them unless they are locked. Any layers that are locked will not show the edges when hovering over them (because they are not selectable when locked). As I’m sure you know, adjustment layers are not meant to be seen, they only affect the layers beneath them.
I’m not sure why you can only see some nulls, but null layers should be visible unless the eyeball is off or they are off screen somewhere, or you have the visibility off, which you said you already checked. Nulls don’t show the edges when hovering over them because a null is basically a 100×100 pixel invisible solid that only shows its bounding box, handles and anchor point. If you go to Layer>Solid Settings it will open the null settings like it would for a regular solid layer. The layers opacity is also set to 0% but setting it to 100% won’t make it visible.
As for the puppet tool mesh, you have to check “Show” in the tools palette, which appears next to the puppet pin tool at the top of the screen when the puppet tool is active. Also, you have to have both the layer AND the “mesh” inside of the puppet effect selected to see the mesh.
