Thanks for the help. Yes I have tried both analog and digital out. Both have the same latency.

I will be researching, firmware and software install/re-install now.

Anyone here get the LHe to work as a VO input using a desktop mixer(Mackie 1202). Signal path is- Mic/Mackie/Analog in to LHe = huge latency.(I monitor from the LHe AES direct to my speakers which have digital inputs).

I have a Metric Halo setup that has much zero latency but that is at the downtown studio.

I just tried a decent condenser mic into the Mackie mixer/ analog in to LHe/ Soundtrack Pro = huge latency. The latency slider does nothing of note in the STPro preferences.

How are people hooking the LHe up for VO work in STPro?

This worked for me:

Make sure that you are not cross converting or downconverting and there will be no pops in the audio(ie keep your “Primary” Kona Control Panel setting at native resolution for your external monitor). I think this is right and it solved the issue for me.

Jeremy Garchow solved this a while ago, he just forgot or something.

Make sure your settings in the Kona Control Panel are the same as your monitor native resolution – no resolution converting allowed. Jeremy Garchow figured this one out a while ago.

I have an 4:3 NTSC broadcast monitor and converting will always give me pops when I switch aps. If the Kona Control Panel is set to Primary Native Format 525i 29.97 there are no audio issues.

I only have problems when I am switching between AE and other programs, if I am staying in FCP I can leave the Kona in whatever format I like and there are no problems. Only when I hop around to different programs do I get the pops and clicks and pauses and dropouts…broken record.

I have contacted AJA about this three times with no response from them. The cow is way better for support than AJA.

I just tried one out. My advice is to skip it. I had kernel panics, FCP complete lockups and missing drives – all in the first day! Does not seem like a good record to me. That being said, it may just be the cheapo 1x Sata card that ships with the unit. There have been reports of success using different Sata cards. YMMV, mines boing back, glad I support local.
