For a self powered mic it’s as good as other like that. Self powered mics are never my first choice. Any mic I would recommend are in the over $1000 category & up.

First I would make sure the mics are being powered properly. The BP designation for the Sanken says it uses a battery powered connecting unit. Check that the battery is full voltage. If you can power the unit with 48v phantom then try that. Second make sure the gain settings on each camera are correct for the mics being used. More information is required.

It wouldn’t be my first choice but yes it will do the job. Be sure you get some type of windscreen for outside use. Will you be connecting the mic to a mixer and then to a camera or to the camera directly? Adjusting levels on the camera while shooting causes lots of problems, get a mixer to go between the mic & the camera for better results on all fronts.

Without knowing what mics you are using, you can do very well with 2 wider pattern mics like cardioids. You will hinder yourself with shotgun type microphones.

You need a small line level preamp between the mono converter and the phone system. What you want is the ac powered stereo line level amplifier from https://www.mcmelectronics.com, part #50-14820 about $35. It has RCA in & out connectors and has 0-15db of gain. It will do the job for you.

Aside from having more inputs to feed the 702 and a selectable HP filter on the 302 it’s highly unlikely you’ll gain any sonic benefit overall. SD’s preamps are some of the best around. In your case, less is more.

AFAIK there is no “generic” HP cable for the 7506. From experience I can tell you that replacing the 7506 HP cable is a daunting job and not for the novice. Trust me on that. Your only option for the 7506 coily cable issue is to have it replaced with a straight cable. I’ve done that many times for others who have had the same complaint.
