if its possible to shoot from a different angle against green screen then you can just play with all types of transparency and masks.
    that could be costly though.
the cheap route will take a ton of tweaking.
basically animate using distort, blur, particles and warps (whatever it takes) for the wispy looking entity leaving the body.

  • Nice of Autodesk to let Evan talk about a competing app.
But then I see that a lot at NAB and Siggraph.

  • Variable Width Mask Feathering 😉

  • More than enough for any high-end needs but later add more RAM and a SAS or extra SSD hard-drive for working files.
Im more curious as to what your rendering to get those numbers?
Do you have the NightFlight test file?
If you can download that, render and post our times.
There could be something wrong with your file or your system.

Just the cumbersome start of the app then setting up the project settings taking over 3 (sometimes more!) minutes of my precious time is enough for me to avoid it again and again.
I do use it at work for a lot of things but a distant third place from Avid and FCP/FCPX.

I too have updated but not found any problems.
I did however update only 2 of the 5 systems Im using FCPX on.
    Wish you luck!

  • You can duplicate a project at anytime with any name if you wish.

create the video template comp with a mask for tv shape.
add your placement photo/video (or add all photos/videos and hide what you want).
create a large comp and place tv comp in center of large comp.
now duplicate tv comp and use align and distribute option.
    now you have two options.
do the above first then duplicate the original tv comp within the project folder and use flowchart for replace or vice-versa.
use the large comp as a layer in a new final output comp and turn it into a 3D layer.
    have fun 🙂

With the BM DeckLink 4K looming, what are you folks using as a monitor?
We were wondering about this when we bought a Rockets and a BOB box.
    Currently using Flanders.
