Jeremy when I do anything with R3Ds I stay 1:1.
Is this an issue when creating a 1080 project?

Thanks Oliver and yes all R3Ds are checked in RCXPro first before hand.
Thats the thing, I wish I could convince Director to use FCPX and keep the R3Ds intact.

Jeremy I wish I can use TC across the board 🙁
On average its about 15% of the project has timecode.
They kept losing jam sync due to…who knows I wasnt on set 🙁
With Resolve I can easily just select one clip (Media Pool) and apply TC and the whole lot with TC becomes synced.
I wish FCPX had that.
You still have to manually select each clip to apply that setting.

Purchased Xto7 and tried using FCPX 10.2.1 XML into Premiere Pro CC 2014.
The audio part comes in nicely but all R3Ds dont.
They end up as generic icons with question mark.
When you double click on a file it pops up the “Edit Offline” window.
I tried relink (thanks Oliver Peters) but it doesnt seem to relink the Audio Synced files but just the original R3Ds.

Thanks Oliver and yes I have synced them in FCPX which gives me a 99% success rate in the last year with R3Ds 🙂
However the director/editor wants to use Premiere.
I guess I can send these to Resolve via XML and then output to ProRes444@4K for Premiere.
Any thoughts on this process?

Well relink works but the Audio Sync didnt take.

I see the Synchronized clips but they have no audio attached.
The audio comes in separately but useless when trying to merge (again(.

I had a duh moment and should have tried that.

Due to recent workload and me trying to make Premiere the editor of choice for this movie has got the best of me.

I still cant understand why the R3Ds dont sync with the audio when its flawless in FCPX.

Of note, I also cant understand why I can only use the Media Browser to grab R3Ds. The Import tends to create the deep sub-folders 😛

On this note I received the pricing for the DNxIO and its at $6900 CAD so thats like $50 USD..joking 😉
The above posts mentioned it to be considerably less?
I got the pricing from an Canadian Avid vendor.
To date the UltraStudio4K is a dud with Avid MC 8.3.x (8.x for that matter).
It works fine with 7.x as far as playback goes.
In 8.x the playback stutters and stalls after about 1 min of play.
Can easily be fixed by pausing then starting again.
A bit annoying to work in.

First off which 4K crayon are you working towards?
I live and breathe RED (I own a Scarlet) so my current system (same as yours) is suffice.
However I replaced the AMD with a Quadro 4000 (Resolve and Adobe).
I also use an ATTO SAS680 with GTECH eS Pro RAID to get the speeds I want.
Along with a RED ROCKET (yea I know costly) my set-up is perfect for 4K/5K finishing.
RED and FCPX is like a hot knife through butter.
No need to Optimize/Proxy anything on my set-up but I do Proxy for clients (dailies and rough edit).
Now of course if you had a chance to get a new Mac Pro then you probably wont need a ROCKET card.
Get a Thunderbolt 2 RAID and your laughing.
