How much time did you spend in REDCINEX with the R3Ds?
Are you sure they are noisy?
Have you tried with options like ISO, Shadow, ND, etc…
And yes clean first before downscaling.

It did get cold in mid-week but that didnt stop us from the $2 Coronas at Fremont 😉
Yep I went there with a tickle and came back hacking.
But I do live in Canada and we call colds a Wednesday here 😉

Just flew in from Vegas and my arms are tired…seriously with $2 Coronas on Fremont they are tired 😉

So now Im faced with un-installing everything all over again.
However the tast will have me starting on OS 10.9.5.
I dont want to format the drive to fix this issue.
There are known issues with DV 10.4 and Avid so dont bother.
I am now at Avid MC 8.2 and hoping an older DV driver will work.
This has been a horrible trip (thank god for NAB) for me 😛

As a REDUSER I actually stayed away from REDSTATE (pardon the pun) as much as possible.
Spend a great deal looking at Gimbals and Lights.
I was not impressed with SmallHD showing off their 502 without the eye-piece on an actual camera. Didnt get why they showed it off playing back videos 😛
And of course it was all about 4K but got to see some clips at 8K booth.
My fave was the SuperMeet, fun to see people win stuff.
BMD gave away over 40K worth of gear.
So for me nothing was compelling other than the oohs and aahs from watching the Izotope guys show off RX 4.
That was actually cool 🙂
A few things I wished I had seen and one was a gimbal on a steadicam.
Oh and I forgot that FCPX was updated and FCPWorks ran a great seminar.

10.4 is bunk!

Now I get the Exception Playback error, yes an oldy but a goody Error that Avid to date (were talking years) have not helped me fix.

At least it just plays for about two minutes then stops.

The older issues the audio and video would start to degrade then stop.

Back to 10.3.5 for me.

After NAB of course 😉

Thanks Jeremy.
To be honest I only did a quick test with Export from RCX.
Just wanted to see if it works that way.
I havent used that option in a long time.
I only use Export for dailies/proxy for end users.

I did a test with REDCine and so far Its not working for me.

The error incompatible files due to same media type and similar audio channels pops up.

Not so sure why this isnt working via REDCine but I know it works when you convert using FCPX.
