To date Pluraleyes and Premiere CC 2014 will not place nice with current R3Ds/WAV recived from feature shoot 🙁

I can only audio sync using FCPX.

The scratch on the RED must be too quite for Pluraleyes/Adobe.

I guess NAB was all a blur to cause I did not remember anything about Sync-N-Link 🙁
Now of course the million dollar question is…will it work FCPX XML to Premiere CC 2014 using Xto7?

Yes Im still stuck on this issue 😛

And since this is all based on TC, Im boned since 2/3 of the shoot TC dont exist 🙁

Great now I have to stop saying…

    “This is called a project…I mean sequence….or timeline..wait maybe just call it a project…”

during my instructions in class 😉

[Jeremy Garchow] “But what I am saying is that, when I RAM preview the 4k shots with a key, this is faster than RAM previewing the rendered 4k files after I reimport them.
    “

I have to investigate that one.

From my experience Ive always found AE slower than any NLE for RAM preview.
NLEs does some tricky coding for playback making us feel its smooth and 1:1 🙂
AE tends to just be straight on grunt pixels in your face which I love (the CGI person in me) 😉
Maybe none of this makes sense but it does to me for the last 20 years 🙂

Warning tread hi-jack in order 🙂

Any of you using Merge with audio using R3Ds?

For some reason I can only get the TC to work and not all my clips have TC.

I had to use FCPX Sync option which worked with the R3Ds and tried the Xto7 route but currently that workflow is being investigated by Intelligent Assistance (plugin makers) tech support.
Doesnt seem to work at the moment with RED files.

Okay back to the original post…

After a few days of pulling whats left of my hair out, I have to add more fuel to the flame that Premiere needs to be fixed NOW!!!
If anything that app is not ready for the real 4K world.
I dont know of anyone with a 4K camera locally except for a few DRAGONS, EPICS and Scarlets so I dont honestly know of any ARRI ProRes flavs to work with.
Trying to do the simplest things in Premiere of late has just been purely annoying.
Ive been using Premiere since v1 (yes Im that old) but never to tried to use it to this extent (RED projects).
Sure its smooth with QT clips and possibly MXFs (I dont know) but as far as R3Ds are concerned its a huge step behind FCPX, Resolve and now honestly Avid.
    So back to the post.
I didnt notice it being faster since Ive been using FCPX with R3Ds since the beginning and comparably to others, it always felt faster no matter what update comes 🙂

[Oliver Peters] “Unfortunately this is why old school – having a slate with a clap – is still the most reliable method.”

Yep I have to rely on that big time.
This isnt the first time Ive had to do this.
Last fall it was another 800 plus R3D shoot that I manually synced in FCXP.
I had to get it into Avid MC.
I used Resolve as the transfer and that was actually fun.
Sadly the in the end that movie had to have 80% ADR 🙁
I am currently researching TC boxes.
Since Im the owner of this RED gear Im gonna have to bite the bullet and enforce this for future shoots.
Recent purchase of a 4pin to 5pin Lemo wasnt good enough since you have to jam after every camera shutdown.
    Such as life.

May 26, 2015 at 12:57 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro or PluralEyes for audio sync

I have to sync over 800 R3Ds and they need it in Premiere Pro CC 2014.
I havent had one successful clip.
I can do it with TC but only about 15% of the lot has it 😛
Tried both PluralEyes and Premiere and not a single clip.
Not to start any flame wars but I can do this in FCPX easily and have done it.
I purchased Xto7 so I can bring it into Premiere and still no good since the plug-in and Premiere dont want to play nice with FCPX XML 🙁

Jeremy I have done the XML exchange with a Director/Editor on his movie.
He would send me the FCPX XML and I can open the file on mine.
But we kept everything 1:1 so I never run into that issue.
I love the FCPX Sync option, I honestly cant understand why Premiere doesnt work with my recent shoot.
The scratch mic audio on the clips seem loud enough.
I wish Resolve had this built in.
Have you had good results using the RCXPro TC sync?
I had issues with that as well.
But then Im dealing with a batch of mags that have intermittent TC on it 😛
