The Proxies should be in the main Library and links to original should just be shortcuts.

Sort of the same situation but probably more volatile.
After a lengthy project dealing with XDCAM, PNGs and Quick Time clips the Editor decided to delete the AvidMediaFiles folder off the floating Avid External drive.
I am waiting for him to bring back the Mac Pro and see if the Avid Attic has the project intact.
Oh did I mention he also deleted the project from the Avid Projects folder.
Im not sure what he was thinking but I def have all the original footages and graphics.
However Ive had this problem before rebuilding such a project without the precomputes and what nots.
To this day the precomputes confuse me and scare the beejesus out of me 😛 -
God I hope they dont take Pro Tools down with them.
And no I dont care for Black Magic buying that either 😛
Avid in my parts is still non-existent to the masses.
Installed in a 2 of the 3 broadcast stations here as well as a few studios.
Everyone has a copy of CC and FCPX here.
I tried to bring it into my College (part-time) but Im stuck with it at work.
Even if they go under my company will still use it for a few more years yet.
Were even pitching in and getting the DNxIO.
Pesonally Im a FCPX all the way and loving it 🙂 -
Premiere to me fails at the start.
Too many gotchas in the import regarding RED files.
It gets worse when you cant re-link files easily from top root.
FCPX can do this with no problem.
Oh well at least I find use for Premiere time to time.

We were both in the agreement that the ROCKET was the issue.
What didn’t sit with me well is how they replied (after numerous emails) at the end of our discussion.
Basically stating that the ROCKET was never an authorized video card.
Yes it was never listed in the requirement pages but I have many docs from Avid supporting the format and card.
It was as though they copied and paste a Tech Support script. -
What are your specs?
What do you have for peripherals e.g. PCI extenders, i/o, etc…
Some of these might be a factor specially if your on a new Mac Pro.[Robert Ober] “Hey Eric have you posted the errors over on the Avid MC Mac forum?”
I went through the ringer with tech support on all my errors.
To date they just refer to the original issue which is the RED ROCKET not playing nice on the new Mac Pro.
Of course they didn’t come up with that one I had to tell them that I found info on the net that proved this.
They washed their hands on the situation after that basically deflecting all my questions and going back to the ROCKET.
So now we wait for the DNxIO box…rinse and repeat I hope not 😛 -
The 1TB local on nMP kicks most RAIDs via Thunderbolt 2.
I would use it if your in a bind but backup on something anything.
I had to work on 1100 R3D clip project off the 1TB.
It was temporary till I got my PCI Extender working again.
It was a smooth ride but would not venture in it too many times 🙂

Upgraded to Yosemite to figure some tech issues.
Havent bothered to go back since its running fine.
Didnt fix my tech issues but 8.4 runs okay.
Still the odd crashes and errors but were used that since v6 😛 -
