I found a stupid way of fixing my current woes.

Opened the Premiere doc with missing media links.

Exported an FCPX XML and imported into REDCINE and forced it to look for the RED files.
Funny that REDCINE can look at the top root and find everything but Premiere cant 😛
With that workflow I switched from the proxies to the R3D fine
Now thats all fine if I was ready to export from RCX to Resolve but still a pain in the ass since I need the editor to make changes in Premiere.
I also got the same steps to work in Resolve 11 but same end result.
I got cheeky and took the XML and edited to point to the new volume path and it seems to work. But all you see is the sequence clips and not whats in the project.
I will test this theory by importing just the FCPX XML and see if it loads the Project folder with the linked clips.
This is all going to be stupid if the project is not matched as the editors.
The editor created a myriad of bins with specific titles since he was also the Director/Writer of the feature.

The beauty of tracks for most of us is that we started with it.
If its there we know how to deal with it.

Finally got around to installing the MC Color in studio.
I can see the MC Color (Avid Artist Color) in the EUCON but cant seem to update the firmware.
Its stuck at 1.1.8 firmware version.
And in Avid Media Composer I get page 4 both Shift on/off working which is a few commands.
Jog and basic transport works.
Anyone else finding less options with Avid MC?
Using new Mac Pro Yosemite and Avid MC 8.4.
Going to test Resolve and other apps soon.

costs you at least three and at times four digits to purchase.

To each his/her own.

Ive gone through the ringer with both Mac and PCs as well as Unix.

I work closely with the IT department (corporate staff of over 3000 employees).

I deal (and manage) with Digital Signage which is forced to use PCs (over 200 player nodes) and a few Virtual Servers.

I will take my chances with Digital Creative Media any day on the Mac period.

Again to each his/her own.

Now of course for pure grunt Maya/Rman stuff, I use a BOXX/DELL combo 🙂

Held off on any pre-purchase options due to lack of communication with Avid Marketing/Support.
We still have a Nitris for the legacy but will trade it in for the DNxIO once I know what were really getting.
