The client doesn’t have his player set up correctly. It needs to be set up to match the playback monitor.

The best place to ask this question would be the FCP forum. Many folks over there experienced with these conversion issues.

Im guessing here since I havent done a conversion like this in awhile. Is your footage progressive 25p? Convert your stuff to 23.98 and adjust the audio timing accordingly by slowly it down 4%. Michael Sacci is a moderator here and will surely have definite answer Im sure.

HDV is a codec that is not compatible with BD as is. Here are the official spec….unless something has changed recently those settings are incorrect. Anyway you can open one of those streams encoded 1440 MPEG2 with media info and see what the resolution is?

Thats impossible. BD doesnt support 1080×1440 MPEG 2…only AVC or VC-1 in this frame size. It must be transcoding somewhere along the way.

I do apologize…i did not know Handbrake worked with x264….I go back on my word now 🙂

Hand brake doesn’t output speak compliant streams for replication nor does it match the quality of x264
