Sounds like the cable was wired improperly. If the balanced signal isn’t wired to the same twisted pair (even though it ends upn the same pin on the other end), the performance of the cable will be degraded.

There is an effect called “posterize Time” that will grab every 3rd, 4th, 5th… frame to create a stop motion effect. Is this what you are talking about?
There are various color correction filters that will remove color. Try Color Balance (HLS) and turn the saturation down.

1) Buy Quicktime Pro ($30.)
2) Load clip into Quicktime Player. Go to Window>Show Movie Properties>Presentation.
3) Click the “Conform Apeture To:” box. The setting will change from “Classic” to “Clean Apeture”.
4) Save.

Just like with a video dissolve, you need enough source material before your in point to overlap the previous clip. Move your in point slightly later (half the dissolve duration), and it should work. You may have to move your out point in as well.
Select the clip(s) to copy, then select copy from the drop down menu (or right-click menu), or use ctrl-C. Then park your timeline cursor at the beginning of where you want to paste. Make sure the track you want to paste to is selected (click on the track header box where the eyeball and track lock boxes are, so it turns light gray), and paste (ctrl-V).

Typical workflow with AE to Premiere would be to render the AE project (make movie), and import the resulting file into Premiere.
That being said, you should be able to import an AE project into Premiere. I would double check your composition settings – make sure they match your Premiere settings.

Can’t you just copy and paste a portion of your sequence into a new sequence?

Try it without using a progressive encoder setting. My guess is that your sequence is interlaced, so using a progressive encoding preset is deinterlacing your graphics.

I don’t know, but I’m about to undertake a similar project, so I’m interested in how you make out.
I read somewhere that the timecode import issue was supposed to be addressed with the 4.1 update.
Otherwise, make sure that “timecode-use media source” is selected in prefs-media.
Can you copy individual clips to the HD sequence? how about after they are relinked?
