Sorry! I didn’t mean to ask for rumors…
I was hoping that there was some official word from the folks at Adobe that anyone on this forum might have received or read. I usually try to stay up-to-date but have been rather busy the last few months so I haven’t had much time to surf the net.
I wish it was that easy to just say we need this upgrade and get it. But if it is not preplanned ahead of time to purchase for the following year you are S.O.L. when you really do need it.Thanks anyway for the insight…

Have you asked the client what they are comfortable paying?
If you can get a price range of what the client willing to pay then you can gauge how much creativity and production time you put into the project.
I know that when we make local commercials for area businesses…we come up with some good ideas/scripts and the client doesn’t balk to loudly about the production estimate we give them for that idea/script.
Other times the client likes the idea/script but tells us that they only have a couple of hundred to spend on production so we “tame down” the script or come up with a new idea to match how much they want to spend…Just my two cents..probably doesn’t help a whole lot.

Try this web site….
https://www.martin-sfx.de/english/tutorials.html
Matin Shafer has a video tutorial on this effect….might be worth a checkout at very least…the finished video looks pretty good.
Might be a good workaround for you or at least a starting point.

I did something similiar to what you are trying to do for a tracking promotion. I got a world map from this website….they are really big so it may take a bit to download…
https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsroom/BlueMarble/
I then imported the still pic into AE and apply the CC Sphere effect to it….The CC Sphere effect has sliders that allows you to control the XYZ rotations but also a slider to control the radius (overall size) of the sphere….Using these four sliders I was able to rotate my 3D earth, have it come to a complete stop and then “zoom in” to a specific area. After the zoom in I applied a stroke effect/mask to give a close enough outline of a specific country. The maps from the website are really big and detailed so I was able to zoom in to get a whole state to be full screen any more than that and I would start to get some distortion and pixelation…
Not as good as GoogleEarth where you can get to street level but still good for my purposes…I hope this helps out in some way…

Did a bit of price-quoting/research for the TV station I work for on a chroma-key unitard…unfortunately budget got cut and the money for the unitard never materialized…but I did keep all the info i collected..
Try http://www.spandexman.com
He has a lot of different styles of body suits and various colors..plus after emailing him I found out that he has made body suits for chroma-keying before and can suggest the best color to use. Plus the prices are pretty hard to beat.
Spandexman even mailed me a couple of samples to try on my chroma wall to see which color would work best with my situation.
Or try http://www.costumer.com
They are not as consumer friendly as spandexman but they do have a Mens Long-Sleeve Footed Unitard for $55 in various shades of green/blue.
Otherwise if you feel like making your own body-suit then go to
http://www.baerfabrics.com
Lots of colors for the 4-way stretch Lycra-Spandex. Fabric is 60 inches wide and is $15.25 a yard…depending on your model I would say roughly need 4-5 yards of fabric but double check with a seamstress to be sure…
Hope that helps you out…

You can always try the Mr. Ed method…
Give the animal a bit of peanut butter to smack its lips on…
That’s what they did for the horse on the Mr Ed show…They smeared a bit of peanut butter on his bridle & bit and let him try to lick it to get get his lips to move..
–Very low tech idea–For more control I would go with the time-remapping & expression
…or if you have time and $$, for complete & total control go the 3D animation route…Just my two cents…

July 7, 2005 at 2:14 pm in reply to: NEED HELP… Covert swf file to usuable media formatThanks for all the helpful suggestions….Nice to see there are so many helpful AE souls out there…
Finally found a solution late last night…
(sorry for not posting sooner but I really was craving some time away from a computer monitor)I tried to import it into AE 6.5 and it load just fine but was a bit jumpy on the rendered out version….Tinkered a bit on some the render settings but with no luck…
Before I pulled out all my hair and seek the consultation of Mr. Daniels, I download a freeware program from http://www.download.com called Magic SWF2AVI….it has a 15 day trial period but was able to import my little swf file into this application and output it to either an avi, tga sequence or tiff sequence – with or without alpha channel….
Then it was just a hop, skip and jump away from using it in AE and Premiere…..
Thanks again for everyone’s help…it is so appreciated….
Sincerely
