Hi Bruce… you don’t even need clip browser to edit your EX clips in Vegas 9pro… in windows explorer just do a search for *.mp4 located in your BPAV folder… then you can drag and drop to your Vegas’ timeline all the mp4 native clips you want in one step… and when I worked for DVD production, I always work in a HD project and make my final render to mpeg2 widescreen DVD arch template (audio AC3) …. very easy…

    good luck

..I have one always attached to my EX3… very good balance with a Dionic battery (and looks “pro” also) … best value for the money.. and you have one Dtap connector (that I use for power litepanels sometimes) … it looks and feels as if always was part of the camera … one minor note: don´t turn your camera “upside down” …the plate doesn´t “click” on the original battery compartment so it may falls down (altough, who treats the camera that way ?)…

    my 2 cents

..I have an EX3.. I work in Vegas 9pro with native files from the camera (mp4 inside BPAV folder).. no need to transcoding to mxf or whatever … nice & smooth, just like AVIs on the DV days…

    good luck

Norman: I always render with BEST quality settings… the criteria on using “good” i think applies up to DV material … fast rendering and very good quality… now with HD sources you can SEE the difference in the final mpeg2 rendering….

    just my thoughts..

Hi Charles… the internet HD template comes in the SonyAVC mp4 options (at least in Vegas 9)… and I also deal with NTSC, but I prefer progressive modes over interlaced… shooting 1080-30p and 720-60p (sports or when slow motion required) most of the times…
always rendering in Vegas with best quality and progressive settings (to HD 1080p, 720p for web and also for SD-DVDs)….

    good luck

sure… it can be easily done.. Vegas 9pro can read the files from the BPAV folders natively.. and you can render to mp4 using either mainconcepts or Sony AVC mp4 options…it even has an internet HD-1280×720 template that gives nice HD-mp4 files….. excellent work-flow and results with my EX3 so far (although I always record progressive with same setting on Vegas…)

    good luck

.. an update to Vegas 9pro lets you edit the native mp4 files (from the BPAV folders) without any transcoding to mxf…. my 2 cents

    good luck

.. Vegas pro9 reads the EX files from the BPAV folders the camera generates … full native support… I use it every day… no need for drivers … in windows explorer just “filter” all the mp4 files inside the BPAV folder and drag them to your timeline… very fast and effective….

    good luck

.. the eHDR is basically like the Sony HD unit but with more capacity (and cheaper…)…

… I always try to avoid the “famous” ppoint screen… or just let room on my filming frame to “superimpose” the original ppoint frames that I get from the expositors or the company that hires me…

    good luck
