thank you … I find very nice results dropping the 720 60p clip on the timeline (Vegas see the clip as 59.94 fps) and playing with the frame rate properties… right-clicking the clip and slowing down to 50% the frame rate …. yes, overcranking is better, but is nice to have a very nice alternative (720 60p) that you can record with the SDHC cards solutions ….
thanks again

… it is not possible to render to flash video from Vegas timeline …what I do if I want FLV files, is render to AVI uncompressed from Vegas and then use the flash video encoder (included with Flash) to make my FLV (there are many converters out there…) OR you can render to MP4 in Vegas (even HD) and upload your video… the newest version of flash player CAN play mp4 as well as flv files… you´ll only need a small “trick” to make your mp4 files “streamable” for the web, just as the flv files….

“On Windows you’d either use the separate MP4 or rewrap to MXF depending on your NLE.”
… or “re-join” the clips in just ONE (as 1 thumbnail) in a new BVAP folder (with clip browser) that you can archive as original (at least on HDD)… then can rewrap the clip to mxf or read directly if the NLE can do that….

… in the past I used Macromedia Director for CD-ROMs with menus containing mpeg or QT videos, but now for CD, DVD-ROM I use flash…. if it’s going to be on the web FLV or MP4 are the best video formats…off course maybe you can prepare a DVD with menus (creating an mpeg2 file in Vegas)….
I use Vegas for editing & producing the final video, but the “authoring” section (menus, etc.) it has to be done in another application…. even for DVD-video (DVD architect for example…)

…. if your video will go to the web, it is good to know that the newest flash player version supports (and play) mp4-h.264 video as well, that you can render from Vegas (mainconcept AVC template) with excelent results even in HD (1280 x 720) ….

You can prepare HD files (render) on Vegas to view on a PC system on several formats (WMV, mp4, HD-mpeg, etc.) that can also be burned to DVD or CD as I mentioned before, or prepare a BluRay that can be played on a PC-system through a BluRay drive OR on a HDTV through a BluRay player…. just check if the TV-BluRay player is capable of reading BD-R discs (the burned ones) … some players can even play HD BluRay content burned on normal DVD media… and another very good option for playing HD on TV (without BluRay) is the Western Digital media player (google for it)…

You can burn Hi-def content in a DVD (or even CD, depending on file size) to view on a PC without problems… If you want Hi-def with BluRay standards you’ll need a BluRay burner, altough there are some tricky ways to “burn” some sort of “miniBluRay” on DVD media that can be readed even on BlyRay players …..

Both SxS and SDHC cards holds a BVAP folder with files that can be transferred to your system as any group of files… I have Vegas 8 and my best way is to use Sony Clip Browser to transfer the cards content to your HD (with CRC check recommended by the experts) and then “export” as mxf for NLE to be recognized by Vegas (seems that Vegas 9 can read directly the files without any conversion)….. You can even “drag & drop” files to your system from the cards without clip browser…(not recommended way…)… For my 16 Gig SDHC cards I use a simple USB adapter and when transferring from the SxS cards I simply connect my camera with an USB cable to my system…
The key is to keep each card on its own folder (named as you want) and inside its corresponding BVAP folder; do not mix or do anything inside the BVAP folders…. maybe you can later “re-organize” your clips but only knowing some Sony Clip Browser operations….
Good luck
