QuickTime: Embedding QuickTime for web delivery
Learn how to embed QuickTime content on an Internet web page.Thetag allows media file types other than those directly supported by the browser to be handled with an external application or plugin. In this case, the external application is QuickTime Player and the plugin is the QuickTime Plugin.
With the release of Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 and later, you must use anThe list ofattributes is long; here we will document theattributes specific to QuickTime.
The Basic Necessities
Thetag is similar to thetag; they both have a SRC, WIDTH and HEIGHT parameter. These parameters are required and tell the browser the media to be displayed and the width and height of the media specified in the SRC attribute.
For example:The SRC attribute is the media file to display either by an absolute or relative URL. The HEIGHT attribute specifies the vertical size in pixels of the SRC attribute. The WIDTH attribute specifies its horizontal size.
IMPORTANT
In order for the controller to appear properly, add 16 pixels to the height of a movie. For example, set HEIGHT=”256″ for a movie 240 pixels high:For a sound-only movie, use a height of 16 for the controller and any width that looks good on your Web page. (If you set the width to 16 for a sound-only movie, the controller is minimized to a single Play/Pause button.)
For example:Never set HEIGHT or WIDTH to less than 2, even if the movie is hidden.

Also, try nesting the sequence and cut that into a new sequence, beware though; if you find you need to apply any filters to the nested sequence, it will unrender any filters below on that clip. A quicktime movie will not suffer the same fate, it just means you have to go through the flattened movie adding edits; not as much of a pain…

Hi Kurt,
did you start your project in 5.1.2 from the off? If not, have you updated your project to 5.1.2 from your earlier version? If you have to do the latter, make a duplicate of the original, earlier version project in case you have to re-install your earlier version. You can’t open a project which has been created in 5.1.2 in say, V.5.
Hope this helps… -
Hi Steve,
yep, everything else works, I’m running V.6 of the DFT 55mm. It’s just a bit odd that it’s not finding the Gamcolor patterns.Enge

Can you not just size up your Canvas window and save that as window layout?

Thanks fellas for both suggestions. The roto tool plug-in does look great, but as with most things, I don’t hold the purse strings! Motion it is then..well for the time being anyway.

Yeah, thought so, this from Nick Meyers on Ken Stone’s FCP site…
“Then it gives you an option for the XML format you wish to use.
There’s a choice between Apple XML Interchange Format, version 1, and Apple XML Interchange Format, version 2, with Version 2 being the default.
FCP 4.5 only deals with version 1, so to export your FC5 project for FCP4.5, choose Version 1.The last item in the window is the option to Include Master Clips Outside Selection
That’s greyed out in my first example, as I had selected the entire Project, so there are no master clips outside of my selection. You might use this option if you only selected a sequence for export, and thought you might as well get all the rushes along with it.”

Err, I thought 4.5 only dealt with XML V.1.

Yeah, I think DVD Pro just sticks it at the nearest ‘I’ frame, not such a problem most of the time, there may be that one time though…usually ’bout three in the morning!
