I use WD my book premium at $350 for 1 TB RAID 1 mirrored drives (so you get 500GB). If my files go offline, just plug it in and keep editing, then transfer(consolidate).

Old switch and bait/high pressure sales

You order the camera, they sell you 10 things with it for 10 times the cost and if you disagree they say the camera is out of stock and cancel your order.

    Stay away !
This is a Company who sells in Internet through different IP, like Trustedphoto.com, expresscamera.com, geniuscamera.com.
I ordered a Canon Powershot for a very good price, “in stock” in their site. After 6 days I didn’t receive any confirmation e-mail. Called them 3 times. Finally contacted them. They tried to upsell and crossell, saying that the Camera needed special memory card and other LIES like this.
Finally they told me that the camera was supposed to be shipped in 3 days. After 5 days I received an e-mail saying that the camera is sold out…

    Just a bait.
    STAY AWAY !!!!!!!

I ordered from this website because it was the “best” price I could find for the canon powershot S3 IS, but before placing the order I called twice to make sure they had this camera in stock, both times I was told they did have it. I placed my order, and called back to confirm, I asked for the third time if they had the camera in stock, they told me they did, and then the sales rep began offering the accesories for this camera, I insisted that I didn’t need anything but the camera. Since I didn’t buy anything else, two days later I got an email from the shipping department informing that this camera was out of stock, and it would take “several additional weeks” until the backorder was filled. I sent them an email that they never responded, and finally I called to cancel my order. I hope my feedback helps you, this is not a serious company at all! they have a nice website but they are not a trusting one. BEWARE.

Yes it is an Avid quirk, when I attempted to archive and re-link P2 media I found I could not get them to be recognized. Avid wrapper around the media changes the files to drasticly.

    Just a note,

If you archive your P2’s you will not be able to re-digitize if your material goes offline. Working in a tapeless enverimont, I back up the avid media drives. They also serve as a Library for other projects, when needed.

    Just an addition to what douglas commented on;

FS100 has the new patch 4.0 out which enables you to record variable rates and PN over firewire. My recording time on FS-100 is approx 238min 720 24PN.

I decided to offer them a retainer where they would pay me for 10 hours every month with 4 hours on location support. The hours would expire in 3 months but can also be rolled over within those 3 months. I also told them that if they wanted to go on an hourly basis it would be %25 more on the hourly rate.

With the retainer the rate would stay constant with hourly billing. I also added the contract could be terminated by either party at anytime.

They are right now thinking about it.

What do you think? Does it sound fair?

Just a warning about the duel adapter, if you a Hp laptop owner like the dv9000 or higher series (newest line) your dual link adapter will not work. HP’s mother board reads it as express to express as opposed to express to pcimc. Dual link is working on a solution but nothing yet.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for the response, When I was talking about “fair use” I was only reffering to educational and reporting categories. Not documentaries.

    From Copyright.gov:

Section 107 contains a list of the various purposes for which the reproduction of a particular work may be considered

Just one addtions to the posting; there is always the fair share use which applies for educational and news/reporting catagories. It is a gray are but here is my interpitation of it:

If you were doing a study of “metallica’s music effects on youth today” you can use thier music with out permission under the fair share use law. But they have to be the focus or a part of the study (or news story)

If you are doing a study on “migration patterns of europian unladen swallow” you cannot use metallica’s music just because you think it makes a great opening.

I may be way off on this but this is what I was explained by an attorney. (Who at the time was trying o tie a coconut to a bird……but thats another story)

    Cheers,
