Thanks guys, sorry for starting an argument. We will look at FCP and the AJA card. But will sit down with one first. A trip down to Florida is pretty easy.

But I do need to make a statement. 844/X was one or two versions away from perfection. Nothing is faster and I am still absolutly blown away that no one has picked it up. I paid full price and was one of the first owners of one. It has paid for its self several times over. And its just a shame, that its not still in production.

    Blessings to all,

Thanks Jason, we are very happy with our 844/X and our 2 other Media 100’s. The doc we are doing is 1hr and 58 mins so we are just looking at some options. We really want to work on 844 but do not have the drive space on that machine. We have been looking at moving our 2.5 TB over from the M100 HD system to th 844 system. Just looking for options. I may give you a call. Thanks

Well, I must admit. For the first time in 10 years I’m looking very hard at FCP. Our 844/x is humming along and our old G4 XR is a workhourse. The HD system is still pretty buggy but we make it work. But in this day and time and with our business exspanding, we have got to be able to hang with the big boys. Very, very frustrating.

    Thanks

Thanks to all. Just got back from a 2 day shoot and used the NP-1B setting which helped me out a bit on the Hytron 100’s. I didn’t have time to do a 24 hour test on the batteries but went ahead and ordered two Hytron 120’s. I was also able to save a little power by going straight to our HD monitor and leaving out the AJA converter as our SD logging station.

We have 3 convergent boxes in our rack and they work flawlessly with our 2 M100 Xr’s, M100HD and our 844/X.
They control a DVCPro deck, Beta SP, VCR, and a DVD burner. Our main deck is SDI and does not need conversion. The convergent folks are pretty helpful with tech issues.

    Good Luck

We have a XR and a HD system. But our 844/X runs circles around bothof them. Dont get me wrong, both Media100’s work all the time day and night. But 844/X is the finisher. Without a doubt the fastest NLE that I have ever seen. Boris would be a awsome adition. The Red plug in Beta was a blast until it timed out.
