Yes, no problems with that. But today there are cheaper FC solutions with better support than Apple XServe RAID

We use Xserve Raid and have no problems at all.

Hey Flo, I’m sure there are other good solutions, but I already have the xraid unit and fiber card. I want to ad the fiber channel card to an already productive SCSI set-up which includes a medea 150 gig drive. Is there any card order I need to follow or issues running both? This is how I have it set-up at the moment:
Dual 1 gig G4 mirrored drive doors
    Slot 1 Video Card
    Slot 2 empty
    Slot 3 and 4 Media100 P6000
Slot 5 SCSI card 150 gig medea drive

    Thanks in advance
    Chris

What sort of FC solutions? And, will I be able to share media between M100 HD and SW systems?

Thanks – trying to decide whether to dump M100 (begrudgingly) for FCP…

[mfm000] “What sort of FC solutions?”

Additionally to an XServe RAID we have an InforTrend SATA->FC chassis which is cheaper, faster and has better support.

[mfm000] “And, will I be able to share media between M100 HD and SW systems?”

If you have a SAN, yes, you will be able to share Media files between sw, HD and Media 100 i like we do it today. We use FibreJet from commandsoft.com as a very robust and easy to setup and maintain SAN controller software. Great product with great support.
